8/11/2017 – I was in the mood for Chinese at lunch and thought I’d try Sun Rise. The decor is sparse – a couple of Chinese pictures, Chinese food plate pictures on the board above the cashier, and can/bottle drinks. They were advertising Hibachi Chicken – thought I’d give it a try. I was a bit disappointed because it was similar to chicken and broccoli without the white sauce and add two small cups of shrimp sauce. It was okay, but not hibachi chicken. I’ll give them one more try – this time Chinese food.

If you enjoyed the Chinese food you got in the food court of your university, if you enjoyed the Chinese food in the food court at a mall, you’ll love this. First of all, we were given one less egg roll than we ordered with NO soy sauce or dipping sauce of any kind, but no loss there…the egg rolls are no more than a limp crusts with soggy cabbage inside…nothing else. The shrimp and cashew nut fried rice was supposed to come with fried rice; it came with white boiled rice. The shrimp and cashew nuts had a few shrimp, a few water chestnuts, and a LOT of cooked celery and carrots! The vegetable Lo Mien consisted of soggy, limp, thin noodles, and LOTS of cooked celery and carrots. All of the food was seasoned exactly the same with soy sauce and nothing else. This food can in NO way compare with Oriental Cuisine or Ming Tree. It is our worst experience ordering Chinese food in Maryville, period. This will be our one and only visit to Sun Rise China…
Love the food! Love the people! I’ve gone here about 3 times so far and every time was better than the last. I could LIVE off their lo mien! This place knows how it’s done!
1st impression ………..fail. Mu advice keep driving. General sos chicken to sweet rice uncooked .
Where’s the beef?. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Had Mongolian beef which was all onions with 7 tiny pieces of beef. As far as Iam concerned, they shot themselves in the foot. Will not order from there again.
Best in the area!. Best Chinese food in about a 45 minute radius! authentic- NO MSG- love it & theyre friendly
