Very loud dining space in back, seated at very end of restaurant closet to kitchen next to a wall with crowded elbow space and I’m not a big person, felt like zero atmosphere, disappointing since was for anniversary. Ask for front of restaurant when making reservations! Otherwise you may feel herded in when they’re busy. The bread came out quickly and was good, but they never offered to give us more. The deviled eggs arrived with pieces of paper napkins stuck to the bottom. Had to peel little bits of paper off the bottom to eat! So, paying $150 for the three-course meal for two for Valentine’s Day and it starts like that? Also, hated the taste of the deviled eggs. The green tomato and bacon salad first course was better but not that crazy great. There was a very long lull between the first course and second course. The trout was good, and the only thing I ate most of and didn’t get tired of before the end. Another really long lull before the dessert arrived. Had the chocolate fudge with peanut butter gelato. Got tired of it and I’m a dessert person.Avoid on Valentine’s Day. (Plus, you have to pre-pay for the entire thing including tip a week before.) The take-home Dinstuhl’s strawberries were a good touch though and they did make some effort to decorate the tables. The server kept the water glasses full, but didn’t offer coffee at the end. He did offer plenty of suggestions though. Maybe this is just a curse of Valentine’s Day and it’s normally better. I’m not sure, but it felt a bit pretentious for the level of food you actually get. And, fellow diners, keep your voices down. This isn’t a shouting match.

We went to Felicia Suzanne’s for dinner last night and were totally disappointed with the food. I had high expectations from reviews and the fact that she had trained with Emeril. But the food was mediocre at best. We had to add salt and pepper to everything except dessert. The gumbo was the worst I have ever tasted and I sent it back after one bite. Salt and pepper could not even fix it. The service was great and I liked the atmosphere. The funny thing is she sells her seasoning mix at the bar. But I am afraid that it is not used in the kitchen.

Food: good. Service: not good. Would not recommend.. We visited tonight, 5/30. We booked an 8PM reservation because when we called a few days earlier 7:30 was not available. However, when we arrived at 7:45, more than half the restaurant was empty. I am not complaining, I just found it odd that they could not take us earlier when they obviously were far from full. We were seated almost midway along the north wall to the right of the entrance. In summary, this place is nothing to write home about. The food was good; the service was mediocre to downright poor at moments. It started with the host, where all great dining experiences are supposed to begin. The host seemed completely uninterested in our arrival – no greeting, no words uttered, no expression, nothing – uninterested that is until the young women next to us showed up. Then he seemed pretty engaged – with them anyway. Oh, he did quickly but silently grab up our credit card at the end of the meal, so I guess he was at least a little attentive. Our waitress was good, but we sat for a fair bit of time before she came around. It was obvious she was a little embarrassed that nobody had acknowledged us. The waiter (apparently no dedicated wait staff, which is fine) was okay but not great. He didn’t say much or offer any explanation about anything unless we asked. With the exception of the woman that helped wait on us and a few of the polite kitchen staff (they were the highlights), we were pretty much ignored throughout dinner. This was surprising considering the host that took our reservation had made a big deal over the fact I mentioned we were coming there for our anniversary. As someone that has traveled extensively and experienced fine dining in a lot of places, this was not ‘it’. Too bad we chose this place for our anniversary. The food was very good, but the overall experience at a place like this should be as good or better and it wasn’t. I do not plan to visit again and would not recommend to others looking for a service-oriented experience. There are too many other good choices around town with several within walking distance of this place.

The food was good but the front of the house needs to get their act together. My experience started with my attempt to make a reservation. On their website they request that you email so, I sent an email with the date and time I would like to eat. After 3 attempts the person handling the reservations got the correct date. When we arrived for dinner, our table was not ready despite the fact that there were several empty tables. We waited at the bar for 35 min. When we were seated we waited 25 min to get our drinks and an additional 20 to even order. After ordering and eating our appetizer, we were informed that 1 of the items a person in our party ordered was no longer available. We had to go through the ordering process again. While all this is going, I order wine. The waiter brings back the wine list to confirm the bottle that I wanted because they had 2 from the same vintner. Even after he confirms which bottle I wanted, the waiter brings the wrong bottle. When get our check, the waiter had charged us for the entre that they were out of in addition to replacement and the more expensive bottle of wine which I specifically told him I did not want. the food was good but not worth all of this hassle. I will not be returning. I will spend my money at Iris, erling’s or andrewmichael.
