Unique Experience!. I have been to two of the three Genghis Grills in Memphis, but this one has been the better so far. Sometimes there can be a wait to get a table, and your food once it’s made, but I’ve waited much longer at the Poplar location (45 minutes to get my food once!). The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially if it’s your first time. You can’t blame anyone but yourself if your food isn’t good, because you put your own bowl together. Definitely recommend to try at least once for the experience. It is loud there, though, so come prepared!
I haven’t written any reviews in a while because everything has been so-so…neither really good nor bad. Tonight I have to say wow! If anyone has travelled the Pacific (as I did during my 22-years Navy)…you will love this authentic Mongolian style BBQ cooking. If you are expecting American BBQ…this is not that. If you don’t know Mongolian BBQ…this place would be a great introduction to this cuisine. My review…awesome meal!
I love this place. If the food isn’t good, it isn’t anyone’s fault but your own. The Cordova location is the smallest of the three(?) in Memphis and has the worst designated waiting area. If the GG craving strikes, I suggest you make the drive to the other locations if it is a busy restaurant night. I confess I only like going to Genghis Grill when they are serving the three bean trio, it is a medley of Garbanzo, black beans, and soy(edamame) beans, which are my three favorite beans. My husband always eats his meals with fried rice, I prefer udon noodles, but regardless of your preferences, this place is a wonderful place to eat. Didn’t like it the first time? Try again and choose different ingredients. .
I love the idea of creating my own dish. It’s my fault it the taste isn’t right. There is One server in particular…A young man named Bryant. The most attentive, on point, and courteous server I’ve ever encountered. The space is a little cramped, and it can be a Tad bit loud at times, but never a disappointment.
Endless Choices!. My whole family loves this place! We first ate here because we had a bogo coupon and were sold. The only problem you will have when dining here is deciding what to put in your bowl. If you have a healthy appetite you can order the endless bowl for a few more dollars and they have children bowls for the little ones. We have never eaten here without everyone having leftovers so the endless bowl doesn’t work for us. I have worried about the fact that everyone in the line is reaching into the buffet of raw food but I have never been sick from eating here and the raw meats and veggies are packed on top of ice to keep the proper temp. The atmosphere is fun and very family oriented. Costs around $10 for a reg. bowl.
Very Good dinner. Everything was great. The food was well prepared and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We arrived at 5:30 on Friday and were seated right away. When we left at 6:30 people were waiting for tables and the line was out the door. I suggest going early or Mon-Thurs.
My first time there was amazing!!! The service was amazing and the mixed drinks are great too. But the food…oh the food…..do good!
