I tried In-N-Out Buffalo Wings on opening day. They put a lot of work into an old Captain D’s store that was then home to Penn’s Seafood for a short stint. The building looks nice and whimsical. It is brightly painted and grabs your attention.I ordered a burger and 6 piece parmesan wings. The burger turned out as a double patty sandwich which isn’t stated on the menu. Unfortunately the burger was boring and very bland. The patties were over cooked and very dry. I couldn’t detect any seasoning at all.The wings are party cut and of good size. They were meaty and cooked perfectly but the parmesan sauce had a very off putting taste. I couldn’t even finish them. Perhaps the other flavors are better.I inquired about their fish and was told they use Swai. Swai is an Asian river farmed raised fish similar to Catfish but is not subject to the same inspections and regulations as American farm raised catfish but it is much cheaper. I won’t eat Swai. I would recommend In-N-Out switch to American farm raised catfish.I wish them luck but with Crumpy’s and Ching’s nearby they are really going to have to kick up a notch.
