Ordered the shrimp pasta , shrimp tasted like it was freezer burned, straight from the bag, pasta was soupy. No seasoning at all. My friend ordered the cajuin feast , he stated that the chicken was dry and all the food was flavorless , he did mention that the gumbo was ok , but other than that a waste of $70.

Decent food, with the highlight of our meals being the voodoo potatoes that came with it. The pork chop was nicely prepared as well. Good music, too.

A blues bar bang in the middle of Beale street; this retro cafe has everything from craft beers to authentic southern delicacies! We started off with southern fried green tomatoes – crispy on the outside and soft and juicy inside; served with a sour cream dip! The local – golden ghost ale from Memphis was a great accompaniment to the fried tomatoes..Though Kings palace has a wide rate of comfort entrees including the gumbo- their shrimp and crawfish touffe is not to miss. Served with bread and rice, the touffe was good balance of spiciness and warmth. The only let down was that they don’t have a good choice of desserts..Overall it’s a very retro, laid back place which isn’t going to burn a big hole in your pocket.

Awesome. Had the Cajun Tasting Plate and apple pie with icecream. Great, friendly service. Was offered taste sampled of the gumbo and touffe. Yummo

Chicken Pontabla. Was here in the summer, love the spicy voodoo potatoes, anyone have the recipe?

Not what I expected after reading the reviews!. Was down on Beale St last weekend with my wife for our anniversary, had went buy Kings Palace Cafe earlier in the evening….there was a very nice young man out front boasting the menu…and we said we’ll come back after hitting a few of the other spots on Beale….we got there about 10pm the restaurant was nice severs were friendly and good live music being played, we ordered the Kings Feast for 2…Rib’s/Pulled Pork/Crab cake.. a cup of gumbo & Voodoo potatoes slaw and garlic bread for $35….all that I can say I wasted $50 after drinks and a tip for our sever….the Pork was so salty and full of gristle/fat we couldn’t eat it..the crab cake was full of filler know crab meat at all. The Voodoo potatoes had know flavor…and when it was all said and done we left 3/4 of the food on the plate…the ribs were ok..the gumbo was ok and the best part of the meal was the garlic bread. We did explain this to the sever who took $4 dollars off the $55 dollar bill…but I wont be going to back to Kings Palace Cafe…we ended up running down to Dyers and grabbing a double cheese burger @ 11pm to finish our meal (the burger was excellent by the way) we had grate meals a 5 other places on our trip but I will pass on Kings Palace Cafe on my next trip down to Memphis. This is a cant miss for cajun cooking. The gumbo wad outstanding. Had the cajun combo, had to be one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Service was fine and very helpful.
