This place was good. We had the shrimp dumplings and the crispy eggplant (the tastiest thing there) apps. For entrees I ordered ramen and my husband had yakitori. The portions are smaller but the price point is good so we just ordered a lot. Everything was tasty I’d go back for sure.
Yumm! Great authentic food.
It’s a little off putting that the noodles they use in their ramen are the same you find in the cheap $.25 packet brands. You’re better off making your own ramen at home, instead of eating the same thing here with a 4,000% markup.
Oh so disappointing!!!. Finally went to Robata thinking it has now been open long enough to get the kinks out. I will not be visiting there again. We asked the waitress what she would recommend. And decided to order…Shrimp dumpling (pan seared) – These are frozen shrimp pot stickers. They put them in the pan all together to cook. So, one side was a bit doughy on some.Eggplant with spicy tuna appetizer – Out of everything we had, this was the best but very lacking. So much more could have been done with this dish & just wasn’t. The only seasoning was on the Tuna.Bacon wrapped asparagus – How can you go wrong with bacon wrapped. Very little seasoning was used & they pushed together on the skewer. The bacon was not crispy at all and in between where there was no space for the head to really come through, just didn’t seem fully cooked.Bacon wrapped mushroom (can’t remember the name they have for them) – Cooked the same as the asparagus. Honestly, we just couldn’t wait to get out of there. The first two dishes came out & we weren’t thrilled with them, but chatted about coming back & trying the Ramen. After the rest was brought out, it was decided we just wouldn’t come back. The good news, everything came out hot.
Great atmosphere. My friends and I enjoyed the food. I can’t say anything bad about my first visit and will visit again. I had the chicken breast skewer with shrimp mayo, that was tasteless in my opinion, along with the shrimp dumplings, but the sauce (maybe soy sauce) made the dumpling better. I could taste the filling used in the dumplings, which was a plus. I had never had Ramen, but I went out on a limb and tried the spinach one. Let me just say, this was probably the best darn soup I’d ever had. Very flavorful. I will be back and will hopefully venture out to other menu items at some point. Oh, I also had the eggplant with spicy tuna…spicy but delicious!! Probably my other favorite next to the ramen.29 Sep, 2014Shoyu Spinach and Ebi Gyoza. The ramen was delicious and filling, not salty like some reviewers posted; however I believe everyone has a different palate, so that plays a part in what you like or don’t like. The Ebi gyoza was pan seared, but kind of bland. The dipping sauce made for a better taste.
Good and Original for Memphis. We had a great dinner here. Yakitori was on par, as was the ramen. A nice addition to Overton Square. I understand that Sekisui owns this restaurant, so that would account for it being a good place to eat. We’ll be back.
The food was very good! Can’t wait to go back! Great service as well
