It’s closed :(. Well if you didn’t try this place, I’m sorry to say you missed the best Mexican food in the east Tennessee because they are now closed. For some reason this town can’t / won’t support local mom and pop restaurants. Now you can drive by a fast food joint or Applebees and It will be packed. I’ve lived here all my life and that’s the only thing I hate about my hometown. The best places are locally owned and the only way they can stay in business is if you support them. I really miss this place and now the search starts for another good Mexican restaurant. That’s one thing good about living in Morristown, there’s no shortage of Mexican food.11 Feb, 2012Best tacos ever. This place has been around a few years but I didn’t try it until last year. I will say I hate that I waited so long to go. They have the best tacos I’ve ever eaten. The Al Pastor tacos are the best in my opinion. I always get them with cilantro and onions…….no lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. Squeeze a little lime juice and maybe a little hot sauce and you will have the most authentic taco you can get this far away from Mexico. Service is great and the owners are very nice folks.

Real Deal Mexican. Awesome tacos… try the al pastor, chorizo and alambre for sure!No frills place with only a few tables. Very nice people with friendly service. Salsa verde is different; sort of creamy but tasty. Tacos are made with soft corn tortillas and are excellent with fresh cilantro and onions…Great lunch stop for under $10 with tax and tip!
Yum. I love tacos al pastor and La Hacienda’s are quite good. There salsa verde looks a little odd, but tastes dreamy!
Real Deal Mexican Food. At the risk of having the restaurant become so crowded with diners that I won’t be able to grab a table next visit (only seating for about 20 spread around six tables) , I am going to tell you that this gringo knows the difference between Americanized-Mexican foods and real deal Mexican. La Hacienda serves up the real deal Mexican. I started with three Al Pastor tacos. Never mind that they weren’t carved off the spit like I was used to having them, thay still had that true authentic flavor of the Al Pastor. Next I sampled two bistek (steak) tacos and they were point-on. I told them to get used to see my face in here more often. They started as a bakery and still do a real good business with it, but have now evolved into selling real deal Mexican meals. I can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes. They are known to serve many loal law enforcement personnel and local politicians. La Hacienda has to be one of the best kept secrets that won’t be a secret for long.
Best Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Morristown. I’ve been there several times and every time it has been great. They freshly bake their bread, making their Tortas very tasty. My favorite though – the Sopes. The Gorditas are good, too. Their authentic food is better than the Mexican-American food. They should just stick with the authentic stuff. I had the fajitas today, and they were great, too!
