Just what we were looking for!. Chicken and cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, salad. Fried chicken, white beans, cole slaw. Ice tea with crushed ice, may be Scotsman nugget ice. Great meal, very reasonable price, great friendly service with a sweet big smile. We’ll be back every time we come to Nashville.
Two of us went there this morning. It was super busy. Kristy was a good waitress, but was overwhelmed with customers and working a different than normal shift. Food took a long time but was good. Standard fare of bacon and eggs. I didn’t get my home fries and my friends pancake was cold. No huge deals. Upon checking out, the owner asked us how it was, we replied not great but we really just wanted to not pay for the food that was missing. He immediately comped the whole meal, apologized and ask us to come back again. We protested and he insisted. So nice about it. I have been at restraunts where much worse occurred and they did little or nothing about it. Because of his willingness to take care of us we will definetly go back.
The cafe is dirty. The food is below average and so is the service. There is no real butter or cream, but, instead, plastic-like and oily substitutes were available (Land O Lakes & Hood Half & Half). I wish that I would have done the halfway safe thing and eaten at Cracker Barrel. The more at restaurants in TN the more I begin to understand why so many people here are obese and/or suffer from type 2 diabetes – the food quality is atrocious!
City Cafe has never failed to satisfy. Whether it be breakfast or lunch. I have never had a bad experience at City Cafe. In fact, if work allows me, I try to go at least once if not twice a week.

I want everyone to know that no one from City Cafe has ever deleted any review of the Cafe on this site or any other. Also, while we don’t claim to be perfect, we do promise to do whatever it takes to make our customers happy, if that’s possible. We are not fancy and we are what we are–people who try to see that everyone is served the best food possible for the best price possible. Give us a try, and if you have a bad experience, if you will let us know, we will make it right! We’re betting you’ll love it! Come see us!
Absolutely terrible! The food was greasy and lacking in taste. We left there without finishing our food, what a waste of $20!
