When I walked in today (Sunday), I was surprised that there weren’t the usual throngs of people waiting. Then I waited an hour for my food. French Toast. It was two slices of bread. FOR 8.00+!Now I know why people weren’t waiting!I used to love this place. I won’t be back unless I hear they’ve changed back!
Never Return. I have frequented this restaurant many times with family. After our experience yesterday I will never return. The restaurant was not crowded even though it was lunchtime. We waited over 40 minutes for sandwiches and an omelet. My grandson ordered from the kids menu. The server came once to say they had to cook the chicken for the chicken salad. I will say I don’t mind waiting but he seemed to avoid us and we thought there must have been a mixup. He delivered the food finally and we discovered the two chicken salad on croissants were not edible and the croissants were hard as the plate. A tiny bit of chicken salad and a large leaf of lettuce was unexpected as well! For $8.79? When he came later to ask how everything was I told him it was unacceptable and the croissants were untouched because they were hard as the plates. He didn’t seem to know what to do and a lady came over to tell us she deducted something off our bill. He delivered the bill and $7.00 was deducted. She determined $3.50 each was enough for our experience and nothing to eat other than a few grapes and 2 bites of chicken. Everyone has an off day. No one or nothing in our world is perfect. But how you treat people in the service industry is key and when I left with my family I knew the people there could have cared less.
This was a delightful experience!! We stopped on our way to FL and loved it. The food was quick and tasty and the service was outstanding. I rarely take the time to write reviews but this place was so good I had to comment. They even gave us 2 free muffins to take home and try!! The only place in the area that didn’t have a wait and I cannot understand why they didn’t because it was an outstanding establishment!
Bi-polar. This place is a mystery to me. We have had above average meals and far below average meals. It’s the same with service. It can be excellent or total rude crap. I have gotten wrong orders for breakfast and had to wait too long for it. I have gotten great breakfast in a timely manner. About the only constant is the bread. It seems to always be good. We pretty much quit going here because of the inconsistencies.
Had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant!!!! Made reservations, got their 10 minutes early, they said the table was not ready, which was fine sense we were early. Well after setting there for 45 minutes we asked what the hold up was and was told the table was still not ready but we could be seated soonish if we split up to 3 different tables. Now I’m a reasonable person but that is ridiculous! I mean we have already set there and waited for 45 minutes and the best they could offer us was to split up our party.,what was the point in making reservations? Well we ended up waiting 10 more minutes and then after still not having a table we decided to just leave and the Manager was terrible, he wasnt even apologetic!! So we went right down the road to Jim & Nicks and was seated right away & they were extremely friendly and had excellent service. So save yourself the trouble and don’t go the Mimi’s!! We definitely will not go back!!
Killer Healthy Breakfast Option. Seriously, I go here just for Breakfast. I have never had lunch or dinner so can’t comment on that. But their Breakfast is the shit!
Slow service, poor vegetarian options,. Virtually no one was in the restaurant or at the bar, and yet it took forever for our party of 5 to get drinks. We finally got up and found the manager who brought our drinks. Does it really take over ten minutes to pur a glass of wine?We also had a fairly long conversation with the server about vegetarian options since 3 people in our party were vegetarian or vegan. The vegetarian options are appetizers, one of the small plates, or a salad made without meat. I opted for the balsamic chicken salad without the chicken. Apparently Mimi’s cooks think that leaving off the chicken means to substitute BACON. I didn’t notice it at first because the greens were so DRENCHED in oily vinegrette that it masked the flavor, and the booth was so dark that I couldn’t see what all was on the salad. When I tasted the bacon and told the server, he was apologetic and the manager apologized that the staff made the salad with bacon even though this particular salad is never made with bacon. They took the salad off my tab, as they should have, but I am sure that I ate some bacon because my stomach hurts badly and it never does. We chose Mimis for our party of 5 because we thought they had a good variety of food. We now know that they are not vegetarian-friendly and cannot even modify a salad to be meatless. Plus, for a salad that costs $13.50, I expect the dressing on the side – not so much dressing dumped on the greens that there is a puddle in the bottom of the dish.
