Great Sushi!. I ate here over the weekend and it was delicious! I got the Yummy Yummy Roll and it def. lives up to its name! I was very pleased with my food and the service. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again!
Quality, Not Quantity. I like Fuji, but if I was closer to Huntsville I would easily choose another Japanese restaurant. The sushi is very good and fresh. The bento boxes are delicious–great rice! However, the portions tend to me smaller than most Japanese restaurants in Madison and Huntsville. In particular, the miso soup and house salad is tiny. When I order the salad, it usually only has 4 – 6 pieces of arugula and I finish it in about 3 bites. The miso soup has 2 pieces of seaweed in it and doesn’t seem to contain very much miso, because it is almost entirely clear.
Great Atmosphere!. I have eaten at Fuji four or five times now, and have sampled the sushi, very fresh, a hibachi shrimp bento box, excellent, and the tempura, also excellent. I took a friend for lunch and she was very impressed with both the food and the atmosphere. This restaurant is not really in New Market, in fact, it is closer to Huntsville proper than going to Madison. I highly recommend it for a Friday or Saturday night out, or if you are in the neighborhood, lunch is great!
Mike. The place is OK. It isn’t the best or the worst sushi restaurant, but given that it is the only one out in New Market, it is better than no sushi at all. The critics were entirely too harsh.
Not good! Soup and salad were skimpy, my hibachi came out first and cold, my wife’s sushi came 10 minutes later and my son ordered chicken but got shrimp about 40 minutes after ordering. It was brought to the managers attention and she argued that it was right. We will not be back.
Excellent!. Did not try the sushi, but everything we had was excellent (we both have lived in much larger cities and have tried Japanese elsewhere) Service was outstanding too. Hope this little gem succeeds in this location – we need more good, non-chain restaurants in the area.
Ok I guess. This is a new retaurant, so you may have to give it some time to get used to the retaurant’s slow service. After all, it is a new restaurant, so the waiters are probably just training currently. The sushi rolls are adequate. Hibachi and teriyaki are okay. The decor is not bad for a place in a strip mall though. Overall, the restaurant is just meh.
