New York Pizza?. My wife and I recently tried Amico’s New York Pizza in Nolensville. Well, if you want New York Pizza, you should go to New York. That said, we had the house special. The pizza was okay. I found the crust a bit soggy, but otherwise not a bad pizza. Like I said, if you want a New York Pizza, you should probably go to New York. If you are in Nolensville, you might want to give Amico’s a try.

Disappointing. The pizza had no bold flavors and the toppings looked unappetizing. The service was improper and didn’t get our order right.

Not again… Tried the pizza the opening week. Pizza was decent but not cooked very well. Being from the NY area I expected better.Tried this place a few more times. Chicken Parmesan Sub was pretty good. However the Pizza became more and more disappointing each time. Cheese and sauce was bland, Specifically ordered the pizza well done thin crust and it came out as uncooked wet bread consistency, very doughy. Cost twice as much as the competition and is half as good as Dominos new NY Pizza recipe. This is not NY style Pizza just a NY price.. Unless you pay cash and use a coupon, then you can save $1.00 off a large pizza.

Pizza was decent, but not great. Cheese cake was Heavy on the cream cheese flavor and not very sweet. The cannoli was over the top sweet. It was like eating frosting.

Some good, Some okay. We’ve been there a few times now, and it is a combination of good and bad dishes. The good: Pizza, Salads, CannoliThe pizza is the best thing at Amico’s, which you would hope considering it’s the namesake. The only pizza I’ve had there which I don’t recommend is the sicilian style, which seemed way too doughy. I love that they have the thinly sliced meatballs that you can get on the pizza, something different than your average local delivery joint. The aforementioned sicilian pizza we ordered was a caprese style, but it was a major disappointment from the other caprese styles I’ve had before. The salads we’ve had are great and very fresh, as well as the cannoli. The bad: Calzone, Chicken Parm, Sicilian styleThe calzone we ordered was burnt, and the dough seemed off. The chicken parm was tough and seemed like something pre-cooked with just some sauce and cheese thrown on. The sicilian style disappointment is previously documented in section above. We’re happy about a new restaurant in the area, but they definitely have areas that need improvement. They should focus on their freshly prepared food, rather than the pre-cooked options that convey a lack of focus on quality.

Gave this place a couple of tries. First, we went opening week. Pizza was bland, no seasoning in the sauce, just the meat, and the chicken parm was overdone. So my hubby thought it might just be a fluke and we tried them again. Bleh… their subs are pretty tasteless. Bread makes a sub and theirs was worse than subway. Just kinda flat. Anyway… there are some better places around and I would try those before Amicos.

Finally there is real NY pizza (or just good pizza) in Nashville. It’s an art and a craft to make great pizza and it takes a little history. This family is the real deal! The crust is worth the drive to Nolinsville. NO MORE MELLOW MUSHROOM for me. I haven’t even checked out the rest of the menu. Glad they are here.
