Fulin is a fairly consistent chain that serves a pretty well rounded menu of Japanese and Chinese food. I’ve never had my socks knocked off by the food, but i also have never been totally dissatisfied either. They have clean and well kept facilities.
If you haven’t give Fulin a try yet, I’d say give them a go. They have typical american-chinese dishes done well, a fairly affordable lunch sized/priced portion available for many items, and also serve sushi. I’ve had good sushi and bad over the years, and good sushi and bad in the Knoxville area. So far, I and my friends have been pleasantly surprised by the sushi at Fulin. Dinner prices seem high, but the portions are large. A friend and I split an entree for dinner and had plenty to take home as leftovers on one recent trip. My favorite at the moment is the lunch-sized Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, and my sushi crowd has complimented the taste and quality of the Honada roll (spicy tuny and avocado).
Quick late lunch included Pork Egg Roll and Hot/Sour Soup. Large Beverage with free refills at $2.00. Soup was very good…not thick and gloppy like many Chinese restaurants. Solid and hearty flavor and freshness of added scallion. Pork Egg roll was packed solid with pork and chinese cabbage. Good flavor while the exterior was hot…the interior was a little on the cool side. Overall, VERY good and deserves a return visit for supper. Not a cheap joint but very well completed interior. whstonemandining.blogspot.com
Chicken curry dinnerJapanese sushi apatizerKids sweet and sour chickenNot a fan of curry so I won’t review the curry my wife had.The sushi was ok to say the least, nothing spectacular. Had 5 pieces (crab, salmon, white fish, eel) all good the rice bed was ok, fell apart when dipped or picked up with chop sticks. The kids S&S chicken was standard but fresh crispy and good. The fried rice had to be the best part of the meal. Which if that’s the case my good. Service was lackluster, had a glass of water with lemon and no refill from the waiter. Although service was sketch and food wasn’t spectacular I will go back and try their lunch menu soon.
this is really an upscale Asian cuisine in oak ridge area, their staff are friendly, they have variety of seafood , well train chef, and best quality of sushi, you won’t be disappointed.
Stopped in the other day for some sushi and have to say, I’ll be back. The decor was nice and not what I expected for a strip mall. It was a quiet afternoon but my server was prompt and professional. I had two kids of tuna shashimi and they were both fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to try the other dishes as the menu isn’t the same old standards. Very excited that Oak Ridge has this new Asian option and look forward to more delicious meals.
