Great lunch!. First time at the new location. Ordered General Tso’s Chicken, Hot Sour Soup and Egg Roll. Loved the soup…they really do make great soup. The General Tso’s Chicken was so good…perfectly prepared and served quickly. My Egg Roll….well, I have had better. My server was very attentive and had a number of tables. A second server was also very busy and even stopped by my table to see if everything was OK. It was nice to see that they were able to preserve the beautiful ceiling from the old building. Beautiful inside, love the drive-through window option, people are extremely pleasant and courteous, buddhist vegetables are the yummiest.
This place is not good. I love Chinese food but I don’t recommend this place. First, they are too expensive. Their ingredients are usually cheap and maybe from China. With this unsure quality, they charge you a lot since they think you don’t know what is good Chinese food in this small south town . Second, there is a news that they changed the owner. Whatever it is, the service and the food are not as good as before. Not sure who is the new owner but I bet he/she cares money way more than their customers. If you have choices, don’t go there and you won’t feel deceived by the quality and price.
The new china palace has changed the owner this year. We had a Chinese party in this restaurant recently. Food is just fine but too expensive. Inconsistent taste. Service is bad. We even didn’t get any appreciation from the owner. Terrible experience. We figured that once you become a regular customer, they won’t treat you like a honorable customer but a cashing cow.
Sad day for the history of Oak Ridge. The city has finally worker to get them out of the building. Their new place is across the street from federal building, I think that’s main st. New fast food restaurants are to be build on old area of NCP. I wish them luck, but I’ll not be visiting the new grease shops. them.

Wonderful food and good prices. My first visit pleased me so much. Food was well-prepared and nicely served. A no-fuss kind of place that’s pleasantly kept with good food, friendly and efficient service the primary foci.
