Had a great experience at the soup kitchen. The staff could be a little friendlier, however the soups are awesome. We had snowcrab , broccoli cheddar and beef stew, accompanied by jalapeo cornbread and brown rolls. Their bread rolls were delicious! And so were the soups!
Overcharged for fritos and no recourse. I used to like the soup kitchen until a recent visit with 8 of my friends. Almost everyone got the same thing and the cost was about $7. I chose chilli and got a little spoonful of cheese and a few fritos on top and my bill was $11.33. I complained but they didn’t budge. Evidently, cheese and fritos cost $4 at the Soup Kitchen. I think I’ll go to Wendy’s the next time. If you go, watch the register and get a receipt.
The reason people move to Oak Ridge. Okay maybe not quite, but it is the thing I miss the most about living there. Their soups are so good I’ve practically been ruined. Be warned, you may not be able to ever enjoy soup the same way again after you’ve tasted the Soup Kitchen’s (don’t tell grandma). The freshly baked breads are the perfect complement to your soup. The desserts are also delicious. The only thing I don’t recommend are the salads, which are just mediocre. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The dining room is a bit crowed and cramped, but makes up for it with a unique and genuine character.
You get a meal full of sodium and carbs….but it is sooooo worth it.
This is my favorite place to eat in oak ridge! The soup menu is always rotating and they are all hearty and delicious. The real reason I eat there, though, is for the brown bread. Try it!
Soup Kitchen. Food is always good when I go and I eat there on a regular basis. The bread is delicious as well. In fact, I’ve never found anything I didn’t like there.
No Soup for You!. When I worked in Oak Ridge I loved to eat here. The soups are fantastic. The menu changes daily and the restaurant has a large amount of seating. Nothing like a chunk of bagette and a hot bowl of soup. The staff was very friendly and service was fast and polite. If you like Soup. Like the name says this is the place for you.
