Best sushi I have eaten in this area hands down and probably among the top 2-3 I have EVER been to. The ginger dressing on the salad was good enough to drink. Amazing! The service was beyond exceptional with the most friendly staff of any restaurant I can remember going to. I can’t find a single thing negative about the whole experience from start to finish. I can’t see why anyone would give it less than 5 stars.
We’ve been going to Minami for over 15 yrs, back when Mr. and Mrs. Lee owned it. Dustin was cooking back then and is now the owner. Our family was even in their commercial about 10 yrs ago, so that tells you how often we went… lol. We’ve been to several other Japanese Hibachi restaurants and although they’re all fairly comparable, Minami is definitely the best. You get a ridiculous amount of delicious food, freshly made sushi and above all else, a personal and comforting welcome with every visit. They know us and just about everyone that visits, by name. It’s most definitely worth the visit if you’ve never been.
We tried a couple sushi rolls and not only was there too much rice in the roll, but the rice could barely be called that. It had definitely sat out too long and was completely mushy. The chicken teriyaki had absolutely no flavor and the chicken was bone dry. It had definitely been precooked and then reheated. The beef yakisoba noodles had more flavor but were so salty they were barely edible. The beef made up for it by being completely tasteless.Admittedly the sushi chef (might have been owner too) did ask us if the food was okay, but nothing I say can fix food that bad. The ginger salad was the best thing we had. I will not be going there again. DO NOT EAT HERE!
