What a treat. I loved this place the was tastie not over seasoned the firey turn table knock my socks with all the different treats our group loved it and the hostess help make our dinning a trip to hawaii like we was eating on the beach at our little party on the beach LOVED IT AN THANK YOU
Really?. My husband and cannot figure out what the hype is all about. The ambiance is very different and interesting. However, the food is plentiful but terrible. Salty, overseasoned, overfried, with thick sauces. If this is authentic Polynesian food then I feel sorry for the natives. The dishes tasted like they came out of the freezer or a can. Nothing tasted freshly made. Also, it was expensive – $44 for a two-person dinner. How has this stayed in business for 50 years?
Absolutely Fantastic….best atmosphere in Smyrna. This is our choice of a place to go when we have guests visiting. It is unique (authentic), very friendly, excellent service, and amazing food. I love that it is casual but yet has a very nice dining feeling at the same time. We always feel very special. They always ask if there is a special occasion (and for us it is usually a birthday). I have to eat gluten free and my mom can’t eat shellfish. I called ahead and they said they would be able to accommodate. She said that we should eat off the grill and that would be the safest options. As it turns out we had a fantastic meal even with our dietary restrictions. When I arrived I informed the hostess of our diets and she immediately informed us of what they would do for precautions with our meal. All of the servers were informed of our needs and helped us order appropriately. I love that multiple people help serve all the tables, it’s not just one person trying to keep up with everything. The teamwork is down to a science at Omni Hut. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. This most recent visit we went straight to our table (Tuesday around 6pm) but other visits we have had a wait …but it is always worth it. They allow call-ahead reservations. For gluten free customers I would definitely recommend this but certainly use your normal cautions as you would with any restaurant. (I avoided the house sauce as the label says it has soy sauce and I wasn’t able to confirm it being wheat free.)Aloha!!!
The Omni Hut doesn’t serve chow mein on rice. It serves it on crunchie noodles made special by the Chicago Noodle Company. The only thing served on rice is the Beef Chop Suey and Bamboo Chicken. So either tnseidel ordered it special and didn’t like it or he has no idea what chow mein is. There’s a reason the Omni Hut has been open 50 years. It’s good. Aloha!
Highly overrated. Cannot understand the hype.
The Worst. Foodwise, there is just about nothing Polynesian about this place. I didn’t like the menu, or the food. Absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever had, and I have had plenty, all over the world.Chow mein served over a small portion of very soggy, overcooked rice. Egg Flower (egg drop) soup that closely resembled dish water with some pieces of egg thrown in.
Hmmm…… A fun place & the food is only okay.
