Great little diner. The menu seems a little limited but don’t be fooled. The food is delicious! My burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were great. The chicken on my mom’s huge grilled chicken salad was excellent. Key lime cake is fantastic. Service wasn’t lightning fast but it’s not fast food so I didn’t expect that. I will return.

The food is excellent, the place is nice, clean and quaint. Remember reading a review one time about crappy napkins in a restrant.. Thinking,, why would anyone comment on napkins.. Well- the napkins suck at this place.. Go eat here and see what I mean!!

Great food at this small town, the burgers, Fried Okra was awesome. When we thought of desert, Sugar Free Blueberry pie was just perfect and out of the world.

Ok in a Town with Few Options. Townsend has very few restaurants. We tired the Black Bear Caf because it had the most cars in the parking lot. It was ok. My cheeseburger was a fresh, not frozen patty, but I found 2 bone pieces. The fries, chicken tenders and popcorn shrimp all tasted like deep-fried frozen stuff you buy at the supermarket freezer. One thing you should know is that fries come with the items on the kids menu, but are an extra order with adult sandwiches, which makes the meals pricey in my opinion. I wish I had ordered the soup. A neighboring table had the soup, which looked homemade and tasty. Also their pies and pound cakes, looked homemade. I think I would have liked it better if I had ordered a bowl of soup and a piece for cake. If you are in Townsend and starving, it will do, but if you can make it to a neighboring town, I suggest you move on.

We stopped for a quick bite before heading home to Florida. BLTs were very good and the fried okra was excellent. Would eat here again
