Carriage House complaint. Their on-line advertisement states that they are open every day and gives hours. I called during these hours on a Wednesday but got no answer. I let it ring ten times. Someone has suggested that they are closed for the season. If so, they need to make this known on their ads and as an announcement on their telephone. No business should just let their phone ring and ring with no assistance (either after hours or if they are to busy to answer). We love their food, but don’t know whether to make the long trip over there or not. There are plenty of other places to eat.
The perfect portion size after a day of hiking in the park. Grilled pork chops were delicious and the accompanying soup and sides were satisfying. Will definitely come back the next time I’m in Townsend.
By far the worst place we have ever eaten
Comfort food, emotionally satisfying.We went here one day during the week. It’s decent food at a decent price. Service seemed to be slow, but was very courteous. This is not meant to be negative, but when I walked in, the smell was reminiscent of a college or nursing home dining room, which was strangely comforting. We WERE the youngest diners there.Although it was mediocre food, I will definitely go back.
Dinner. Service was Great! Food was okay, very bland , could use some fresh herbs to give flavor to most of the food. Only change would be for food to have some flavors through spices and herbs.
We had the fried green tomatoes and carriage house burger. The fried green tomatoes were awesome and the burger was good too. We were tired of the tourist trap spots in Gatlinburg and I was very happy to find this place.
Very Very Good Food. The best restaurant that we whent to in Townsend was the Carriage House. The food was delicius. We ate the breakfast-bar. It was so good it had everything on it. Home cooked food like bacon,sausage,grits,gravy,apples,home frys,french toast sticks,and more for only $7.49.The kids ate for only $3.49.The staff was very nice and friendly.
