Give it a try.. My family went to Townsend for Spring Break and there were only 3 restaurants open in addition to Subway and Pizza Hut. The first night, we were the only ones here. We had the salt ham, sugar ham, spaghetti, and chicken tenders. The hams and tenders were very good. The spaghetti was so, so. The owner and waitress were really nice and we had a nice conversation with them. We decided to come back the next night. We ordered the Big Joe burger, the Big Joe Western burger, the chicken tenders, and a kids cheeseburger. The Big Joe burgers are very good, especially the Western. My wife said it is the best burger she ever had. There were a couple other families in there that night but still not very busy. One great thing about the restaurant is that the food was made and brought to our table within 10 minutes both nights! It is almost like it was already cooked and waiting for us. I have never had food brought to our table anywhere before.

This cannot be called a restaurant. It was filthy and the carpet was sticky. The breakfast was a buffet with bad eggs, instant grits, and frozen biscuits. The bacon smelled and tasted rancid. The ‘coffee’ was Sysco foodservice swill. Do not go. It was horrible. These folks take no pride in what they are doing. And it was $10 a pop.

The Trout Was Not Horrible. That is the best thing we could say about AJs. The cornbread was dry as dust and stale. The sides (green beans in this case) were definitly canned and not well seasoned. I had a hamburger which stayed with me through the next day. Not recommended.

DO NOT GO!!. Please don’t waster you money at this place. The food on the bar was cold and our waitress was very rude… I would try Timbers because it’s much better food and the people are much nicer.

Much better in town!. We had a father’s day breakfast here and was very disappointed with the meal. Service was non-existent, we were served water in 6oz glasses and we only got a refill when we asked another server for assistance. Coffee never got refilled. The food was marginal at best. Breakfast meats were cold, eggs had a funny texture to them as if they were steamed, French toast sticks were over cooked and tough.Would not recommend this establishment if visiting the Townsend area.
