Absolutely perfect meal and table. Went for my wife’s birthday meal with the family. Table done up with a tablecloth and candles. We all got different dishes to share. Blackened tilapia, 10oz filet, sea bass and grilled mahi. Everything was exceptionally good. Jalapeo grits were a perfect side to the sea bass. Had a nice pineapple salsa for sweetness to compliment the spicy grits. Son had the filet which was incredible. Perfect medium rare and the server made sure he cut into it to check fineness before she left. Nice touch. I will definitely be going back. My only issue (getting picky) was the bench seats were squishy. That’s my only complaint.

I lived in Abilene for over 2 years and Copper Creek is the closest to Gourmet Restaurant as Abilene will ever be able to come to.That said, I do agree with most reviewers on the fact that portions are not as generous as your typical Texan joint (which, for a European such as I am is a blessing, allowing to fully enjoy the culinary experience without the need of requesting a doggy bag). But, let us proceed by steps. First off, the decor… A tad tacky for my taste but your typical Texas theme. How would I rate it? My taste differs sensibly but, we are in Texas after all and the cuisine is Southern Comfort, therefore I shall give a solid 4-point. Now, on to the food, the portions aren’t gargantuan but they are filling nonetheless. Their best is undoubtedly meat (specially t-bone steaks) though I truly loved their salmon as well. Their risotto is a tad too creamy for my personal taste (first time I got it, I visually thought it were a lumpy mashed potatoe, however the taste was fairly on point). Overall, though dishes were of high-range quality, I do believe they could work on their presentation (after all us human eat with all senses: sight, smell and taste). Now… on to the negative aspect of the review, the prices are, indeed, quite high for the area. So, my suggestion is to bring your date, celebrate your anniversary or come for graduation. This is most certainly NOT your average eatery. They do have a full bar but I have never been able to try it.
