Good but not great. I really liked the service, selection and price. But there are better burgers in town in every catagory. But for a well priced, good tasting burger with good service, this place ain’t bad. Especially if you are downtown.
A lot of places to get burgers in Abilene, all say they have the best. Gloria’s Grill I think if not one of the best burgers its in the top 5. In downtown town Abilene and off the path of people rushing around makes the visit even more enjoyable.
Good old-time hamburger. Quaint little eatery on the south side of downtown Abilene. Very good hamburger, as are the onion rings. Took my parents to eat at Gloria’s–they ate the chili dogs and said they enjoyed them (especially the chili).
Delicious, home made tasting hamburger. However, I have a hard time catching this place when its open. I think the hours posted here may be wrong.
Decent Burger. Stumpy’s is better.. This place, which I have been to several times, has okay burgers, boring, flavorless fries, and decent taco salads. A friend of mine works near here and we met here for lunch until Stumpy’s opened. Everything is kind of generic, like it came from a slightly better than average high school cafeteria.
Glorious Gloria’s. I went for lunch today and was quite happy with my cheeseburger and onion rings. I had to wait a bit for my burger (lunch rush) but it was definitely worth it. For me the best part was the toasted buttered bun. It had that crisp edge that adds such a satisfying crunch to each bite. The burger looked hand-formed and wasn’t overcooked at all, which I’ve come to expect when restaurants serve thin patty burgers. I will definitely be coming back to this unfussy greasy spoon.
Great patty melts. When I lived in Abilene (2009), Gloria’s was my greasy spoon of choice. My favorite item on the menu was the patty melt — it is made to order, melting and greasy and delicious. Plus, they make it with rye bread (as it should be), and the fries come out hot and crispy. This was one of my favorite guilty lunch pleasures!
