I thought the price was a bit high for the buffet especially since you could only make one visit to it, weird. The sausage was really good and the brisket was pretty good also; I’m a Pulled pork guy so for me to say brisket was good it must be true. Overall I would come back for the meat but the items on the buffet were mediocre at best.
My husband and I went here for dinner. It wasn’t great but it was good. I had the ribs and my husband had the chopped brisket. We both agree our meals were ok, not great! Glad we had a chance to try Squares. I don’t think we will be going back though
Another OK Abilene BBQ. Alas, there simply are no legendary bbq joints in Abilene like the ones I read about in Texas Monthly or see in Diners DriveIns & Dives. Squares BBQ P&G is what I’ve come to expect in Abilene: the brisket was good but not great, the side dishes average. The staff were very friendly and recommended the ribs (sold out before we arrived). I’m willing to visit S BBQ P&G again.
Veggies good. I LOVE the banana pudding (best around) and the selection of veggies on the buffet. Probably the best in town on that stuff, especially the potato wedges… Overall though I am disappointed and have tried to promise myself to get a veggie plate or a sandwich plate instead of getting meat. Brisket is usually dry and like most places in Abilene the BBQ is overpriced. Most of all it is very confusing to order. I stare at the menu board and have no idea what it means. Luckily I know what bbq places serve (1 meat plate, 2 meat plate etc)
Hole in the wall with great brisket, ribs, and sides (beans, banana pudding, brussel sprouts, green beans, etc). Nice staff. Only one type of sauce but it was good.
