Avoid during restaurant week, we were treated like second class diners when the waitress learned we were ordering from the restaurant week menu. The food was very average and overpriced. If you think this is great seafood, I can suggest some excellent Tuscan specialties for you at Olive Garden….
Chamberlain’s Fish Market was unexpectedly packed on a Monday. Catch of the day provides simply grilled or broiled fish. We had fresh oysters (my 9 yr old’s fave), trout and stuffed jumbo shrimp with crabmeat. My other two boys shared a New York strip 16oz. My jumbo shrimp though delicious was at best large. Wine list had staples but not imaginative. Richard Chamberlain does a great job at being consistent and he’s a nice guy ittybittyfoodies.com
Feels Like a Steakhouse. Chamberlain’s is a beautiful layout. The brick exterior with complementary landscaping is inviting. The interior is designed with heavy woods, black coloration and copper accents. It has a feel like a study or library in a mansion. The service is well done. They look crisp and carry themselves with precision. The interactions are measured and polite. Be prepared for a lengthy meal. Each course is drawn out. The food is just as good as the service and atmosphere. Chamberlain’s delivers on the price value point. It’s very expensive, but they do it right.
Disappointed. Very disappointing. Having dined at Chamberlain’s Chop House which is one of our favorites, and having eaten here several times before, I will never dine here again. My filet was very tender but tasted fishy. Two of our guests ordered their rib eyes medium rare and got them medium well. Not an ounce of pink. Hard to imagine this so bad when Chamberlains Chop House is so good
Delicious lunch!. Four of us dined this week during lunch and loved it! I had the flounder, mashed potatoes and the baby spinach salad. The spinach salad was unusually delicious and the fish, cooked perfectly, was a real treat. We split a peanut butter pie slice with strawberries, it was decadent! Will return!
Excellant Dinner. It had been snowing and there was ice on the streets when we got an e-mail from Chamberlains offering one-half price entrees for anyone that would get out tonight. That was just enough to get us onto the street. The restaurant was not all that busy when we entered at 5:30PM and mote of the wait staff were standing and talking. We promptly seated and ordered some ice tea even on a cold wintery night. We each ordered a salad with my spouse having the Aprils Chop Salad which she enjoyed. There were mixed greens, blue cheese crumbles, parmesan, walnuts, chopped vegetables and it came with a lemon basil vinaigrette. I ordered the warm pecan crusted goat chees and Baby Spinach Salad. The goat cheese sat on top of the salad and was good. The spinach may have seen better days as the dressing was so heavy the spinach was floating in the dressing. For an entre we ordered the Honduran Tilapia which had a parmesan crust, lobster, scallop & bay shrimp sauce. The piece of fish was thick and cooked perfectly. It was delicious. I ordered the crusted east cost founder which came with a almond crust and chardonnay sauce. The sauce was more than ample and I only used half of it. My piece of flounder was rather thin and I would have preferred a thicker slice. Both of our entrees came with oven roasted asparagus which were excellent. The stalks were just the right size and they were very good. I actually had nine stalks while my spouse had thirteen. That is a lot of asparagus at any restaurant. There is an extra charge for asparagus if one orders as a side however in our case both of the entrees came with the asparagus at no extra charge. The fish nevertheless was very good. We topped the evening off with crme Brule which came topped with a medley of fresh fruit. Frankly we like our Brule a little think and without the fruit. Nevertheless the desert was very good. Now its time to hit the ice and snow again.26 May, 2013Excellent Seafood. We dined early at Chamberlains and was glad we did, as we saw the place completely full by 7PM. Suggestion—make certain you have reservations. There is valet parking however if you dont mind walking a few steps from the back parking there is lots of free self parking. The menu is not that expensive with a selection of seafood and steaks. There were 10 different fresh fish listed on the menu plus a three course menu with lobster. We passed on the three courses although it was offered at a great price. We ordered the east coat flounder which was baked with a almond crust in chardonnay sauce. It was delicious and the dinner consisted of two large pieces. Added the oven roasted asparagus and it too was delicious. Could not have asked for a better and more delicious dinner. The wait service was friendly and professional and everything was sent to our table in good time. The wine selection is good however we opted for just a couple of glasses rather than a bottle. There are several glass selections offered at very reasonable prices. The Berringer was only $8 a glass which we think is a great deal in a restaurant of this type. The hot bread is a sourdough which is accompanied with a garlic soft spread butter. One could make a meal out of just the bread. We were offered a second loaf and accepted it.We stared with two salads, one a Fish Market Caesar Salad with roasted peppers dressing and queso fresco and a second salad was the April’s Chop Salad with mixed greens, blue cheese crumbles, parmesan, walnuts, chopped vegetables and lemon basil vinaigrette. We alerted the waiter that we could be having dessert and coffee and would like the coffee to be freshly brewed decaf. He thanked us for putting our request in early as the coffee would have to be brewed. We opted for cream bullae for desert. The serving was definitely large enough for two. Served with fresh blackberries and strawberries with a tint of mint, the dessert was fantastic. The brewed coffee was excellent and we frankly hated to see the experience come to an end. This was a truly an outstanding dining experience to celebrate ones 56th wedding anniversary. We have to go back!
First impression of bar is positive … Bombay martini is top notch!
