La Spiga is tucked away on a small road next to what look like industrial/warehouse-type places. Upon arriving, it’s easy to think you’re in the wrong area, but that bright yellow awning is there to assure you! The restaurant is small and a blackboard above the counter where you order displays the menu. There are also fresh breads and cakes available for purchase. The spinach quiche was delicious and had a small layer of cheese at the bottom that really made it. The latte I had was ok and the chicken penne looked awesome. I highly recommend trying this place.
Wonderful Surprise Hidden in an Industrial Park. What a hidden little gem. As I drove up, I was not even sure I was in the right place. The loading dock for semi’s next to the front entrance gives off the wrong feeling. Step through the front door and enter a lovely Italian Bistro setting. The warm yellows, smell of baking breads, and cozy decor make this very inviting. I tried a Latte while I waited. I really enjoyed it. I picked up six cookie/scones for my meeting. They were wonderful. I will be back to try the lunch menu. Great place.5/29/14 – Update – Went back for a lunch experience. La Spiga is now a favorite. The manager/owner was fabulous. She guided us to the Chicken Salad and Pork Loin Medallion Sandwich. Both were very good. Later we asked about the sandwich and she took the time to explain the caramelized onions and baby swiss that was used. She went into detail on how they soften the horse radish sauce. I’m sold on this place. It’s busy at lunch. You have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it.
So good and cheap!. I ordered a caf latte, whole pastrami sandwich, cup of garlic potato soup, and a loaf of fresh bread. All for $12 and change. That’s a great deal! The sandwich and latte were absolutely delicious! I didn’t care for the soup too much. It was very thin and salty but everything else was great and I would go back again for sure!
You will not be disappointed. My husband and I found this place a few years ago for lunch and we absolutely love it. I have had several items on the menu and have NEVER been disappointed. One of my favorites is the Chicken Pesto. I also love their free samples. Their fresh baked breads are discounted daily after 2:00. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!
Awesome.. Great artisan breads and awesome pizza. Best Bakery in Addison.
A hidden surprise. Via Spiga is tucked between industrial warehouses off the beaten track, but worth seeking out. The bread and muffins are delicious, but I had the best quiche I’ve ever eaten with the house special salad as my side. It had fresh romaine, sundried tomatoes, carrot curls, sliced olives and fresh mushrooms with a delightful dressing offered on the side. The samples offered enticed me to buy carrot and banana nut muffins, and the warm pepperoni/provolone loaf could be a stand -in for pizza! A total surprise, can’t wait to go back and try soups and sandwiches…
