I really enjoyed my time at Lawry’s. I went for a 91st birthday party on a Sunday. Valet parking. Beautiful and enticing outdoor seating area with misters. I love the big chairs, booths, and art inside. There is something slightly similar about it to the Russian Tea Room in NYC, just in the idea of grandeur. I love the history of the restaurant. I learned the Lawry’s seasoning salt originated from the chain, as well as the silver meat carts. I ordered the California Cut prime rib, and it was very filling. Everything had a nice flavor. I really enjoyed the mushroom bisque, as well. Unlimited mimosas. It wasn’t too packed inside of the restaurant, but just busy enough. Our table was likely the loudest. Nice restrooms. I’m sharing a picture of the chocolate cake on the dessert menu, but unfortunately I couldn’t fit another bite. Everyone said it was delicious. trendydallas.com
Prime Rib like no other! These slabs of meat are so tender that they melt effortlessly in your mouth. With the addition of creamed corn, you’ll finish your entree so quickly you’ll wish you had more room for a second helping.Lawry’s is the state of Texas recreated as a restaurant. The longhorns on the walls and the trophy cases full of signed footballs are a tribute to the state’s pride and joy. When you walk in, be sure to have on your Sunday-best at the very least. It’s a high class atmosphere that demands that you look presentable and act with grace. It’s as much of an experience as it is a meal.
EASTER BRUNCH 2015. This was the worst meal I have ever eaten at Lawrys. Absolutely the worst Waitress ever. We have been constant customers for over 40 years! Very Disappointing.
Grandson’s birthday dinner. Our grandson just turned 20, and his uncle had recommended Lawry’s as a special treat. Service was absolutely excellent, and food was perfectly prepared. We all ordered something different, and the guys had plenty to take home for lunch today. The online reservation worked flawlessly.
Not so Prime any more. It has been years since we grace the front doors of Lawry since it move from downtown Dallas to its current location in North Dallas off the tollway.I can definitely say without a doubt things have change. Unfortunately not for the better…Some good friend of from the Parks Cities reminded me that you guys still existed so I book a dinner for a returned visit.I was shocked at the out date dcor. The seating needing new support since it definitely seen its better days. So we moved to a booth instead of a table and cannot say that was much better. We had to find a spot in the bench that had not been worn out. The waiter was interesting and not what I recall from my past visits as a seasoned waiter. Nice guy but not the caliber that one would expect in fine dining. It was obvious this was his first serving in fine dining. About the only item that I can note that was any value were the cocktails we started with and the check to remove ourselves from the restaurant.I was asked 6 times if we were visiting for a special event. I can’t say that any restaurant I visit over the years ask this question. So I can only assume the only people that might come to your restaurant now are first time visitors and not the loyal clientele Lawrys once had in the past. The food had no flavor what so ever. I normally don’t take the time to write such a review, I just don’t return. But I thought that management should be aware of it major decline in the Dallas restaurant scene.(Note before writing this review I gave the wrote the corp office and the GM at this location time enough to respond. (through their website.) After 4 weeks I yet to hear from them.Don’t waste your money or time on this place.)
No more Thanksgivings here…. Going to Lawry’s has been a Thanksgiving tradition for our family for several years but today was the last time that we will dine there. Sure we had to wait to be seated because they seemed to be overbooked (yes, we had reservations); but it took over an hour for us to get our food after we ordered. No explanation or comment from the waiter. Mash potatoes off of the cart were cold, one steak was cooked incorrectly and not seasoned…overall a blah experience for the amount of money that we spent.
Great Dallas Power Lunch. Very nice decor, service, and luncheon prime rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert. Took some of my best clients here and was NEVER dissatisified!Great place….for money business power lunch.
