Went for a birthday celebration. the waiter, while personable and fun, had no clue what he was doing. Drinks arrived after the appetizers, which did not arrive until our main course was delivered. Appetizers were brought to our table, then the waiter(s) decided they were at the wrong table, so took them to the next table over, then realized, yep, they were ours. No refills on drinks – we were never asked. The crawfish was amazing, but don’t order a hamburger ( I realize this is a seafood restaurant, but come on!!) Anyway, spent $71.00 on dinner and it was not worth it! I can spend that kind of money and get better food and better service closer to home!
My opinion. Gumbo was good . shrimp brouchette was ok. crab cakes were not good at all. i’ve eaten a lot of crab cakes these were mushy and they completely forgot the c r a b…. taste like ground fish. very disappointing.
Longtime Nate’s customer. Today, I picked up my sister in-law at the Crown Plaza just south of your location. She had just arrived from Chicago, and was attending something to do with Mary Kay. My wife was busy, so I was in charge of taking her sister to lunch, before she started her meeting at the Crown Plaza. For me, this was a no brainier as always, when in Addison, I take people to Nate’s. Unfortunately today was VERY disappointing—to say the least. When we arrived, we were seated, in a great location, next to the aquarium—perfect. I ordered crawfish touffe, and my sister in-law ordered some type of gumbo. Our service was fine. When we left and returned to my car, I asked her how her lunch was (mainly because I was very disappointed in mine). Not one to complain, she said it wasn’t what she had expected, when I told her we were going to one of my favorite places—I had to agree. My touffe was like an appetizer–(I was hungry as we walked out the door. Her gumbo, was like very runny diluted soup. I’m not a big lunch eater— but this was very disappointing, to say the least. Sorry, but I had to let you you know.
Steak was over-peppered and the crab cakes were too breaded. I was disappointed. Not worth it.
Never again. This place was disgusting , my entire party was disappointed and will never return. My shrimp were burnt and I could taste whatever has ever touched that grill as if it has never been cleaned. We all had different plates and no one left happy.
Run Down & Okay Food. Nate’s restaurant has been in this location for decades. It’s showing its age. The place does not feel clean and certain areas have a musty odor. They use red lights, so everything has a red light district feel. I am not a fan.The host and server were great. They had a sense of humor and joked around with us. They alone would be a reason to come back; however, the food for me is not good. The grilled veggies had a vinegar taste. The garlic bread was too much oil, and my T-boy was flat on the flavor. A co-worker was raving about her Shrimp Etouffee. They loved the flavor and how much shrimp was in the dish.I will not be back. It’s been years since I have been here, but my experience this time was the same reason I have stayed away.
Absolutely the best seafood in Dallas !! Also the greatest crawfish this side of Louisiana !!!
