Leagues away from what everyone thinks it is. On my first visit, I always make sure my impression is based on a lofty standard. I study and consider every part of the experience; after all, there is too much competition out there not to, When I shell out top dollar for a meal, the establishment must approach perfection. The beloved churrascaria chain has obviously won the hearts of many. *Wags a finger*…now, let me tell you why that is BS. Edible? Of course. Perfect? Not even close.1) Service was overbearing. Meat service ignored those little cards and kept interrupting me while I was trying to sample everything else. Annoying.2) Faux authentic. Feijoada is the national dish of Brazil, and while I have never eaten much of it, I know how it is made and how it is supposed to taste. And it was disgusting. Even if meat is the feature, not doing the national dish right is embarassing. And caipirinha? I barely glanced at the cocktail menu to make sure they had it and ordered it straight away. Imagine my surprise when all I tasted was tequila. Intriguing for a drink that is not made from tequila but cachaca. If that is what they actually used, I have no idea how they messed such a simple cocktail up so horribly.3) Inconsistent self-service food. Some was good, some was obviously an afterthought. If you are not going to do everything right, do not serve as much. I will not hold it against you. Couscous salad is the best selection, for what it is worth.4) Standard service meat is so salty, that it could probably put someone sensitive into a coma. Yeah, I know, you come here expecting it. But oh, how that salt masks the inconsistent charring of the meat, and pretty much every other imperfection. While the doneness was mostly proper, from sword to sword, and observant person can tell that the color is not the persistent dark brown it should be. When the less salty to-order meat came, it was much better, but honestly, who wants to wait for that?Atmosphere is certainly nice and most locals like their food tasting like a salt lick, so keep paying for the shock and awe value of the rich local chain if you want. I will be giving their competition a chance to impress me in the meantime.

VIP Treatment. I may think I’m somebody special, but Texas de Brazil actually treats me and everyone else like royalty when you attend any one of their churrascarias. I bought one of their VIP Dining Cards when it was available for a few weeks in March, so I was able to get twelves meals for 50% off. It makes it even better that a portion of the proceeds go to the Children’s Cancer Fund. The food is superb. I love the creamy, luxuriant, lobster bisque. I could easily make a meal just having that alone. The carved meats just make it that much more special. While everyone says pass on the salad bar, you’d be crazy to miss out on one of the best one’s around. Prosciutto, salmon, shrimp, mozzarella balls, imported olives are just a few ingredients that make up their unique salad bar. My favorite meat cut are the lamb chops. The ones I had were tender and thoroughly enjoyable. All of the meats that I had were wonderful. Service is top notch; they really care about the customer. They give out comment card at the end of the meal and I made sure I mentioned our server Gedda who was at the top of her game. This is not a place that I would come to everyday, It would lose its magic. But I wouldn’t wait for a special occasion either. Any day is a good day to go to Texas de Brazil.

Prepare your body. Seriously. There is so much meat to try and not enough belly to consume it all. Went there with the girlfriend and it was both of our first time dining there, and the waitress proceeded to explain the procedure and such. Then we got up and served ourselves some delicious salad and other delicacies such as lobster bisque and asparagus. The meat began to come and I had never seen so many different cuts of meat on my plate in my life. A word of warning, however, is that most of the cuts are served medium-rare, which your waiter/waitress explains. And you can order dishes cooked to your desire as well. Although it is pricey (well over $100 for 2 people including tip) but I believe it is well worth it.

Great service. I took my mom and a friend to Texas de Brazil over the Christmas break, and we were very satisfied as usual. The service was great, the food was fresh, and we will return. My mother loved the bisque soup, and the filet was amazing. This was far better than my visit to Fogo Friday evening.

Texas de Brazil gets a 4 out of 5! The food was delicious and so was our sangria! My two minor food disappointments were with the salad bar and the meat service. The salad bar was smaller than other locations and only one type of soup was offered. The meat servers were very nice, but the same types were offered over and over again and had to request someone to send different types. The atmosphere was also disappointing. While the decor was beautiful, tables for two (maybe because it was Valentine’s Day?) Seemed sat very close to one another. It was easy to hear everyone’s conversations. Overall very good experience.
