We had high expectations for this place and it did not deliver. The beignets are not bad but not comparable to the real deal from Cafe Du Monde. These are much too heavy, not light and fluffy like beignets are supposed to be. Our three orders were also cooked too much. They were almost crunchy instead of soft and airy. The coffee was better than most for the area but the frozen cafe au lait is off the mark and is in need of much improvement.
OK now for all of you NOLA refugees this new beignet spot will suffice any beignet withdrawals. Their cafe au lait could use a little improvement, like more chicory. The beignets are made to order and piping hot when served to your table. I’ll be back for more!
