Absolutely delicious…. Catfish Sam’s is an established business and a local tradition. Decor is a little dated, but it’s part of the charm. Service is slow at times, but your patience will be rewarded. Catfish fillets are large and hush puppies, fries, pinto beans, etc., are served up hot and fresh. Don’t forget to try the fried pickles! If you want to eat healthier, they do have baked fish options. Recommended.
Disappointed. Went to Catfish Sam’s for lunch yesterday. Very disappointing. The fish I ordered was very dry and flatter than a pancake. The baked potato was good, but I can make them at home. Lunch prices were high and they don’t offer a senior discount. I will not be returning.
Poor customer service. My mother and I went to catfish Sam on September 30,2014. The food was ok. When it was time to pay the bill my mother and I was going to split the bill,the cashier did not ask how we were paying and put the charges all on my credit card. My mother had a coupon buy one get one free.after billing my card we told her we have a coupon. The thing about it she should have asked how we are paying and she didn’t.I told her to reverse the charges back to my card in which she did and she told me it would take about five to seven days to go back to my card.I was pissed off because you just tired up my money. The so called owner came out to the front, bottom line he was rude, and no help at all. Then had the nerve to tell us there’s the door. What kind of way to handle a situation. Bad customer service. Never will go back there again.
Coupon not worth it. Decided to try this place when a coupon came in one of those coupon packs from the mail very disappointed even with the coupon it was expensive and the long wait for our meals and only room temperature bread hush puppies and catfish and poor service made the coupon not worth it
Changed lately?. We have always loved Sam’s, but were so disappointed in it on the night of July 26. First, we noticed the pinto beans tasted so flat with no flavor and no salt, not like their usual taste. The, we noticed their wonderful hush puppies were very chewy and had little or no flavor. Then, came the fish. It was ok, but had a slight chemical taste. Had a taste like fertilizer. We believe they have changed brands of fish and hushpuppies. We have decided to give it one more try to see if it has changed. After that, it may not make it to our list of restaurants to return to..
Love this place!!
What an old fashioned treat. Wonderful Mom & Pop restaurant with cheerful staff. Fried catfish is beyond exceptional.
