We love El Arroyo. The food has been improved and service is typically very good. The patio is wonderful with heaters in the winter and fans with most in the summer. They are always proving the place and keep it clean. Give it a shot and see if it becomes a local favorite for you, too.
Not worth it. Overpriced, poor service, and bad margaritas. We ate out on the patio, and the radio was blaring to the point that conversation was difficult. Not an experience I care to repeat.
Don Julio’s Mexican grill is so much better and is close by
Great atmosphere! Best patio in Arlington, staff is very friendly. Food is great at a great price. Recommend for all.
Worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten.everything lacked seasoning. I will never be back.
Good Patio atmosphere…….. Been going to this place for years….watched the growth and the popularity of the open porch, live music, the expansion of the patio, etc……..but still……this is not a destination place just based on the quality of their food or their margaritas…..just went yesterday for the $1.00 Wednesday margaritas and found out that they have increased the price to $1.49 and, now the ritas are given to you in a plastic, 6 or 8 oz. cup! So, they have raised the price 50% and reduced the amount of margarita…..Just like Joe T Garcias, this place is not known for the quality of its food….it’s the outdoor atmosphere, the cheap happy hour margaritas, the live music on Thursdays, etc………Their salsa (hot sauce) is really, really good….their queso tastes like its out of a can, and Ican’t think of any dish or specialty that they’re noted for…..all in all a really good neighborhood Tex-Mex joint, but not really anything to write home about or to brag to any out of town friends or relatives. Lots of other choices!
Not worth it. I used to frequent the original El Arroyo in Austin, before it became a chain. I was happy to see it open in Arlington, but the food was a sore disappointment. If you like ballpark queso, but less spicy, you will like this queso. In other words, blech. The rest of the food was not bad, but was unremarkable and overpriced. The patio would be nice–if it weren’t overlooking busy and loud Cooper Street. The inside is nondescript, sorta like a Mexican Denny’s. Tried it twice–won’t be back. Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles further up Cooper almost to 287 and try Cha Cha’s, on the left.
