Costa Del Sol was a different experience. As you walk in you will see many different Latino backgrounds coming to enjoy papusas and the excellent horchata. It would be wise to be able to speak spanish when visiting, but not required. the food is very good (although they ran out of a few things that we ordered) service is a little slow, but very kind. I would reccomend it to anyone
Go when it is cool. In this corner sits two different Central American restaurants. The more popular one is Costa Del Sol, which is a family owned restaurant serving Salvadoran food and Mexican (not tex-mex) food. The dish selection is extensive, and contain a good sampling of chicken, beef and seafood items. The food tastes good, though for those used to American style Mexican food, with its loads of cheese and various custom designed salsas, the food here can come across as bland. The location of the restaurant could be improved upon. It is out of the way and not easy to find unless one is purposefully looking for it. The parking is also difficult, as the lot is small, and winds around the building offering lots of blind spots for cars and pedestrians alike. The biggest drawback about the place was the lack of air conditioning. So if you go, go during a cold day, as the kitchen itself will heat up the place.
Best Salvadorian Food in Austin. Have been eating there at least twice a month for several years now. Office groups love to eat there too.We take family and friends every time they visit. Friendly service and excelent prices. Tamales wraped in banana leaves, pupusas, fried plantain bananas, empanadas, refried beans and sour cream, all delicious!!!!!!
Very small and, the food is more expensive than I expected for a weekday lunch and the very understated decor. It tasted great though. The fish soup was delicious.
OMG!. The food at Costa Del Sol is AWESOME!!!! I live 5 hrs away and have been trying to figure out a way to go back and get some pupusas! Absolutely great food!
The Seafood Soup is really good.
I love to eat at Costa Del Sol! Don’t let the location keep you from trying the best central American food that you will find In this area! Very clean and friendly! Try it!
