So-So tonight. Had a good dinner but the French Fries were not tasty,soggy and not at all of the quality you’d expect. As we mentioned it to the MD, his response was they were properly prepared…rather disappointing.One more such experience and that will be it for us.
Wow!. My husband and I lucked out and were able to get reservations late Saturday afternoon for that evening (we had tried a few other Saturdays but were never able to get in). We started with the crab salad stack which was absolutely divine. For the entree, I had the mahi mahi and my husband had the steak. We were very pleased with the dinner! We can’t wait to come back!

Oct. 21st experience. What a pleasant experiece . Just moved to Austin from California and were looking for a great gourmet restaurant…..found it.We honestly drove by this restaurant dismissing it being in a strip mall. My wife’s hairdresser told us it was teriffic so we tried it. Lobster Ravioli & three beef combo were excellent. Mushroom white truffle soup awesome. Zeb was our waiter and best friends in minutes. Dzintra talked with us. Great service ambiance and food. Bee Caves best so far.
We just had a truly incredible lunch at Plate today. It was such a surprise, given the location (big box area across from Hill Country Galleria). My husband and I eat out a lot as he works three days per week and we eat at various restaurants at least 3 out of the other 4 days. The meal was so memorable and the chef is unbelievable. My husband had the Kobe burger which was unlike in quality any other Kobe burger we have ever had. I had the daily special with the best risotto I have ever tasted, coupled with fresh scallops, shrimp and Alaskan Halibut. Even the hand cut pommes frites were special. We will definately be returning. The menu changes weekly and they offer a supper club option, cooking school nights and in-home personal chef options. What more could you ask for!
A Jewel in Bee Cave. Wow, what an amazing place! My boyfriend and I are food snobs and have traveled all over the world exploring fine dining and being cynical. This place is great! We were so happily suprised to dine here. Have driven by a few times and due to their odd schedule, have never made it in before. So, tonight was a first. Service was good. They let you savor the wine and appetizers before you get your main courses. The restaurant itself is cozy, few dozen people fit at best. We shared the lobster macaroni and cheese with homemade pasta from the restaurant itself. That’s a first in Lakeway or Bee Cave. Home made pasta?!! What, seriously, in TEXAS, pasta made from scratch?!! It was amazing! Food was divine. My boyfriend had the Kobe filet and I had the Wellington venison. Both were great. You won’t leave here hungry. Portions are double of what you would expect to get from somewhere downtown. Price is absolutely moderate of the area. Great value. This place is beautiful but also incredibly charming. I went to the restroom and the women’s bathroom not only has fresh towels and lotion but an entire cabinet full of very good perfume. I could hardly believe my eyes. My favorites perfumes. Almost sprayed my usual, but I opened the little glass door and started smelling all of the other delicious bottles. Finally found a Versace that had a hint of grapefruit. Delicious. Love the charm of this place. So classy. I’ve been all over the world and have never seen such a bathroom. NEVER. Not in Paris, Copenhagen, Brussels, Rome, Moscow or Zurich. A women’s heaven of sorts.. Adorable. So, 2 people, 4 glasses of good wine, an appetizer, 2 entrees- $120, add tip. Perfect. Can’t ask for more!!! Incredible dinner. Blows most chains out of the water! We’ll be back! Thanks again for the amazing date night!
