My husband and I love Peggy’s. The first time drove there, we almost didn’t walk in. The building is under construction and it looked a little run down. We were extremely pleased that we decided to stay and have dinner. They have indoor seating and seating out on the bayou. I ate crawfish (boiled) and it was really good. I did have to ask for a side of seasoning because I like my crawfish hot. My husband had the shrimp po-boy with French fries and a crawfish pistolette. It was all excellent. The shrimp in his sandwich were large and the French fries were homemade. For dessert my husband got the bread pudding (I didn’t get any, because I am not a big fan of bread pudding). Let me tell you, for a person who doesn’t really like bread pudding, it was REALLY good. I think I ate about half of my husbands dessert. The wait staff was really nice and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good food.
Really is on the bayou. A little out of the way but it does live up to its name as far as being located on the bayou. We had heard the hamburgers were great here, so we went ahead and ordered it. Bad decision. A little on the chewy side. Should’ve probably ordered seafood from a place on the water. Not sure if we’d go back. Friendly waitstaff, though.
