What a slice of time.CASH only.Rutledge is an old time burger shop, burgers chips and drinks nothing else.Burgers are made fresh from packets of ground beef, no fillers, just the meat.Burgers are small. Cheap but not in flavor.Set up between two buildings back in the day and it has lasted. It is only 5 foot wide and 20 ft deep.Makeshift tables align the wall, w stools. If you are not friendly, please do not come in. You will need to hug the walls as people pass to pay, but it is an experience. 80’s music and fans are the amenities.
What a cool little spot for old school burgers. Here are a few observations. Understand these are not complaints, just what to expect. 1. This place is really small. No matter how small you think it is, it’s smaller than that. It’s basically a hallway with tables. 2. The burgers are tasty, but small. I had a double and had to order another. A little smaller than a Whataburger Jr. 3. Even though it’s a burger, this is not fast food. Could be the day I came, but it took awhile to get their food. 4. A little disorganized. Even though there were about 10 people that had already placed their order, my meal got served before everyone else.5. Cash only. If you couldn’t figure that out when you walk through the door. Overall, it was a tasty burger, even if small. The smell as you walk in the door is amazing. If nothing else, try it once for the experience.
Tiny hole in the wall. This place is located downtown. Its a really narrow hallway looking restaurant. I remember back in the 70s, I was around 5 and the burgers were so delicious and homemade and 50 cents. Nowadays, they’re around $1.50 and tiny. You really get a better deal and taste at McDonalds or Burger King. The place is neat to check out though.
Rutledge burgers are the best burgers in town… Enjoy them every chance I get.
