Great Place for Lunch. Went for lunch and asked the owner for suggestions. The owner of Shenanigans also owns a commercial shrimp boat, and serves fresh shrimp at lunch. I tried their specialties – their famous meatloaf, famous mac and cheese, fried shrimp, and a cheeseburger. Excellent food! Fresh, perfectly prepared shrimp, the best mac and cheese Ive ever had, great meatloaf, and a cheeseburger that reminded me of the cheeseburgers of my youth. Attentive and perfect service. Ive heard this place is louder, and more Irish Pub in the evening, but the lunch is one of the best in Brownsville, with a well-dressed crowd. This is a place with huge televisions set to sports channels, but at lunch, the sound was off on the televisions, and there was soft, upbeat music playing. Irish pub theme, with 25 different beers on tap some with exotic import and craft names, but I do not drink the food was enough to bring me there and keep me there.
