Queso Burrito is a must. If you don’t go through the entire bottle of red sauce in a single sitting you’re doing it wrong.

Fresh, homemade Tex-Mex. Pepe’s had a change of General Managers in Aug of 2011, so if you haven’t been since, you should definitely go…you’ll notice the change!!! Their food is fresh and made to order with a perfect, unique blend of spices and seasonings in each item. Nothing is HOT (unless you choose to add some of their green Habanero salsa! It’s DELICIOUS, BTW). Their queso is like none other I’ve ever had and I could practically drink it with a straw. The eggs in their breakfast tacos are seasoned and not that plain globs of goo you get at other places – you gotta try ’em!!! The Queso Burrito or Frito Pie is a must when you come, but I bet nothing you try will disappoint. Really great food for VERY low prices!

I’ve been twice and I remember the first time being good now this time was different. The food seemed pricier and the amount of food you received was less. The food tasted as if it’s been lying around for hours and handed to you. Not too good sorry.

Pepe’s is Great!. Pepe’s has very good fresh Tex-Mex style food, that is extremely affordable.Enchiladas are delicious, so are the steak fajita and other burritos, as well as the Pepe’s dinner. The frito pie is also good.Other pluses are, the service is very fast, and Pepe’s has been in business for a long time.

Pepe’s in Bryan is a quintessential Tex Mex fast food dive. Very low prices for food whose flavor puts the chains far behind. If based on flavor alone, or the value of flavor compared to price, Pepe’s is who would be the restaurant with thousands of locations all over. But, surprisingly, Ken Martin never elected to go that way. He easily could have, as Pepe’s puts the Bell to absolute shame in terms of taste. Pepe’s menu is much more diverse than the chains as well.My personal favorites are (in no particular order): the Queso Burrito (combo burrito smothered in queso, served w/ chips), the Taco Burger, and the Regular Burrito. One of the things that makes Pepe’s is their historic red salsa. It has a tomato base with a vinegar twang and spot-on seasoning. Now in DFW, I have no reservation driving 200 miles each way to go to Pepe’s. In fact, did so this past weekend and it was the absolute best. This past wknd: Queso Burrito and Regular Burrito. (I also had a DFW friend I turned on to Pepe’s years ago send me with a jug on my trip, to bring back a GALLON of Pepe’s hot sauce w/ chips.) You’ve got to understand this about Pepe’s: it is totally a dive. If you are looking for stellar ambience and panache, don’t even go. This original Bryan location has been going strong for almost or at least 40 years. It ain’t brand new, and don’t expect it to be. Some of the vinyl seams on the booths is torn, revealing styrofoam padding underneath–you get the idea. (So remember, you are going there for the food.) My personal recommendation is get a Queso Burrito, put the tableside red salsa on top, then eat a chip w/ the queso-salsa on top. It is pure heaven.Pepe’s is the best fast food Tex Mex ever. It is unquestionably worth a 400-mile round trip anytime.

Good, inexpensive mexican food with fast and friendly service. Pepe’s rocks!

The food all came in plastic or styrofoam and it did not taste good.
