Tortas are Fantastic. Used to frequently go here back in my College Station days (Class of ’06). There sandwiches are simply the best tortas I have ever had, and their owner/operators really cared about making sure you enjoyed your food.
The humbler the location, the better the food. For barbeque and Tex-Mex, the rule of thum is the holes-in-the-wall serve up the best food. Taqueria El Tio sits like a beacon at night tucked between an old warehouse and a nondescript, unsigned RV storage barn. The food is wonderful: Tostada Siberia is a favorite: corn tostadas, perfectly ripe avocado, marinated chicken, lettuce, Mexican crema, everything fresh.
