Delicious Experience!. My husband and I braved the heavy rain last night to keep our reservation at Amici’s. We were celebrating a belated Valentine’s Day Dinner, and we definitely selected the right restaurant for this special evening! First, the ambiance reflected a quaint, inviting atmosphere allowing everything from casual to dressy attire. Amici’s reminded us of a small, family-owned restaurant just off Times Square across from Sardi’s in NYC. The cocktails and wine were perfect. My husband loved his appetizer – Escargot – delicious and a perfect portion size. My Orange Salad was fresh, refreshing, and the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The wait staff was attentive, and the chef-owner stopped by each table to introduce himself (or chat with regular customers) to make sure all patrons were happy with their dining experience. My husband ordered the Sirloin and Shrimp, which was perfectly prepared (medium rare) with fresh vegetables and potatoes. The portion was plentiful for him. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli over roasted chicken with spinach and a bchamel sauce that was delicious and perfectly portioned (I couldn’t finish it all). We ended the evening with a Cappuccino and dessert. My husband ordered the Almond Lace Basket, which he really enjoyed. I absolutely loved the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Whenever available, I order bread pudding at every restaurant at which we dine, and I have never tasted a better bread pudding! The total bill was less than we had expected. Thank you, Chef Bartolino Cocuzza for a most wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return soon!

Awesome intimate dining!!. On a whirlwind trip to Texas, my best buddy I stumbled on this wonderful place shortly after dark. We were greeted to a cozy atmosphere, perfect for relishing the taste and textures we were presented with. The staff was warm and friendly, the service excellent, and the main courses of seafood canelloni were magnifico!!, Coming from an authentic italian family, the ricotta and goat cheese fililng was smooth, creamy, and just the right blend of bite and soothe. When we couldnt decide on a desert, they custom blended 2 of their popular dishes to create a desert to die for.

Enjoyable Experience. I have been here several times. I have not been disappointed yet. If you have not tried the bread pudding please do. I am not a bread pudding fan but this is over the top. The service and food has been excellent.

Traditional Trattoria that misses the mark…. We were invited by some of my wifes co-workers and I was looking forward to some great traditional italian food.Although the place and atmosphere was quaint and intimate, the food could use some work on being more traditional. I will add up front the service staff were excellent in attention to our needs but were not very knowledgable in simple questions regarding italian dishes. The bread served were great-straight out of the oven warm with a great crust and soft inside-I think we got about 3-4 replacements of the bread before our order came and it was consistent every time.Looking at the menu-I was really craving a caprese insalata-there was something on the menu somewhat similar called a cheese and tomatoe salad which included sliced green bell pepper. I had asked the waitress if they had a caprese salad and she didnt know what I was talking about. I told her very briefly and she said it was no problem. Well the problem was the mozarella was not the mozarella advertised (menu stated from the Dallas Mozarella Company) and it had ricotta cheese shaped into little mozarella balls. A little disappointing for sure. This was one of the misses.I had ordered the Elk, which was on the special of the day menu, and my wife ordered the lamb. The other appetizer ordered was the lobster and mango salad, it was succulent and sweet but would of liked to see bigger chunks of lobster and leave out the lobster endoskeleton to prevent using our hands to shred of some that lobster meat. The other appetizer was the cheese and tomatoe bread which was enjoyed by all parties. The brushchetta were excellent also but could of used a little less chopped onion. The lamb my wife ordered was excellent and it was sliced into bite size pieces from a lion, would of like to see lamb chops instead. The Elk was good but not better than the Lamb, it was recommened to eat rare and it was a little chewy and gamey but I ate it all b/c it was good. The corn and green beans and mash potatoes that came with the meat were excellent, fresh and perfectly prepared. The red cabbabe, I think, could of been left of the plate as the wife and I didnt eat it.Our friends who came with us had the spicy sausage and prawns pasta. It was good, the praws were huge, and the other dish was the snapper which was also excellent. The night finished off with dessert and different presentation of the tiramisu, I prefer the traditional prepared tiramisu that you get in Italy, but this wasnt bad at all.All in all it was a great night but missed the typical traditional Italian way of serving dinner of antipaste, primo piatta, secondo piatta, etc., more grilled bone in meats and grilled veggies. If you are in the neighborhood, check it out though, I dont think you will be disappointed.

Been there several times. Think they are stuck in a rut . The food never changes. Butternut squash & corn. Bo-ring!
