First time eating there and it was amazing!! I had the chicken fried steak which is the best I have ever eaten. For desert I had the Chocolate pie which is also amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone from a date night to a family night out. This restaurant had great atmosphere and great service along with amazing food.
We loved to occasionally pick up Babe’s when we lived in Dallas, been to the Carrolton and the Garland locations, take out only never eating in. Great fried chicken and an order comes with all the sides. Chicken is great, chicken tenders good as well, fried catfish good, pot roast good, but the fried chicken dinner is the main thing. The sides are good, but not necessarily wowing, salad is simple but fine, iceberg salad with a vinaigrette, mashed potatoes good, green been a ok, corn ok, biscuits tasty, gravy good. At carry out they will give you honey, hot sauce, and real butter, definitely get them, hot sauce and some honey with the chicken, and honey and butter for the biscuits are great. I was in Dallas for work a few months back and made sure to grab a chicken dinner while there.
We love Babe’s food, and since we’ve tried their Smoked Chicken, Catfish and Green Beans, we’ve begun venturing out even though Roanoke is closest to us. We really enjoyed everything at the Carrollton location. All the great flavors that Babe’s is famous for, interesting dcor and good service. Carrollton is a likely destination when we’re craving Babe’s or entertaining out-of-town guests. diningoutdfw.com
I love it.. Catfish is my favorite fish, Babe’s make the best. The rest of the food is also delicious. The service is great.My husband i go there very often.
OK for large groups. If you need a place for seating a large group, then get there early and this place can handle it. Food is down home style, loads and loads of sugar, even in the salad. I think that is what has people liking this place.
I loved it. Coming here to visit during a work trip, I am honored to have stumbled upon Babes. Famous for its fried chicken though I suggest getting the fried catfish and the country fried steak. I ordered both which were amazing and put me in a state of delirium. To top it all off the all you can eat sides of mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits,and green beans were enough to make any mans knees weak. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip and I pray they expand into the DC area.
Wish they would go non-gmo. It’s good but wish you would be more farm to table and buy more local produce.
