Just went to the restaurant in SW Ft. Worth, on Sycamore School Rd. It used to be a Church’s Chicken and is inside a gas station. The prices are good, the portions plentiful, but the food is poor. They mostly have fried chicken, chicken tenders/wings, burgers, and fried fish. The only Chinese food is your choice of chicken, shrimp, or combo fried rice. They don’t have the extensive menu as the one in N. Dallas. My husband’s cheeseburger was very mediocre, as were the crinkle fries. The burger was too salty and the fries had no salt. The fried rice was tasteless. Adding soy sauce and duck sauce (several packets of each) helped a little. If I’d never had fried rice before, I’d think it doesn’t taste good and would probably never order it again in another restaurant. My daughter and I agreed that the next time we want quick Chinese take-out, we’re going to the Panda Express that’s also near the house (just a little farther away).

You Get What You Pay For. This small strip mall restaurant is a little run down. Table posts are rusted. Wall mounts are pulled away from the drywall. Cables are held on the wall with duct tape. The order counter needs a good solid cleaning and painting. The prices are probably what keep this place open. Meals are $5.99 and $6.99. I thought my portion was very large, and it included rice and an egg roll. That’s quite a bit for the money. While the price is right, they have to be able to afford it somehow. The place is not kept up. The expensive ingredients like meat and nuts are very slim. My cashews were not cashews. I do not know what they were. I had 4 to 5 pieces of meat in my dish. I think I could have given that a pass if I did not over hear two different arguments from paying customers. The first would not pay until she got her dish and approved it. Who does that? I got my answer when the next guest did the same thing. She got into a word match on 3 shrimp not being enough. She left without paying or taking her order with her. I’ll pass.
