I am a lover of authentic Mexican food. Although the food was good, this was not authentic. I ordered the Guisada De Res and the menu indicated is was hot & spicy….which it was not! I had to add the salsa that was served with the tortilla chips to obtain spicy. The waiter was nice and attentive. I would probably eat here again if I am close but wouldn’t make a special trip just to eat here.

Solid Food Service Lacking. Los Jalapenos sit at the intersection of Josey & Rosemeade in Carrollton. The decor is simple and elegant. You get an instant warm feeling of authenticity when you walk into the mix of parchment yellow, burgundy and black. The hostess detracts from that feeling. She says almost nothing and does not welcome you. She quietly asks your seating choice and then walks you to your table or both. The server was not much better. Another employee of few words. She was effecient, but not very attentive. No one asked how the food was or could they get anything else. You pay the hostess on the way out. Again, no talking, asking or creating small talk for a nice experience. The food was good. I would recommend this place to anyone. The corn tortilla chips were particularly good. If you are okay with minimal service, you will like this place.
Good food. Good service. This is not the Little Elm location, so I don’t know what that other user is talking about. Also, there’s no such thing as authentic Mexican food around here. It’s all Tex-Mex so expect that and nothing more. We go here at least once a week, totally worth it. Go here.
Is absolutely the worst restraunt I have ever been to. Visiting the Little Elm location was a bad experience. The staff was slow, food was burnt, asked 2 times for straws and finally had to get up and go to bar for a straw. They brought the fajitas with out the tortillas and we had to get up and ask for them from the kitchen. Brought 2 people’s food took another table their food and then few minutes later brought 2 other meals. Never brought our guacamole. Will never stop here again!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE. When I think of mexican food…. I always go to Los Jalepenos. The food is great. The service couldn’t be better. And the best Elvis iimperesonator shows up all the time. I LOVE LOS JALEPENOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want authentic, go somewhere else. I wrote a lot of reviews today so I’ll make this one short. I know that most of us find reviews useful when it comes to making a decision to eat at a place we’ve never eaten before. So, if you like authentic Mexican food, this is NOT the place for you. It’s just below ok, although they try to sale their food as authentic, it has a long way to go before it can even come close. The service is ok, but the food is below average.
