This place is a good, hole-in-the-wall sloppy barbecue joint. The food is consistent , and the people that work there are very helpful and speak English as well as Spanish. I have them cater our business lunches several times a year, as well as pick up food on my way home. The only things that are spicy are the jalapeno sausage and the jalapeno beans- everything else is pretty standard barbecue joint fare. The potato salad rocks!
This is a Tex-MEX BBQ. The owner is from Mexico and makes up the recipes, he also owns the Lewisville location. All of the sides & sauce contain black peppercorns, onions, red peppers and jalapenos. I have a ulcer so unaware of the spices, I was sick in bed for a week. I tried to talk to the owner but his response was that his customers want more spice. I didn’t waste my time trying to explain the difference in salt vs. pepper to add flavoring. Basically, he was trying to say that he usually doesn’t serve people like me. No I don’t speak spanish. I had gotten take out because I didn’t fit in with 8 people eating there. The atmosphere was very, very casual & out dated. I will stick with the old fashioned Texas BBQ from Dickey’s or Spring Creek.
