One of my top three favorite restaurants.12 Jan, 2014My favorite Korean restaurant in DFW. If you get the brisket, poor a little soy on it while cooking, cook it until it’s nice and crispy and it will taste like bacon 🙂
All reviews for this place have the poor service already in them, but if you are a different race of Asian eating there, forget about bad service. You get no service. Once the dishes were out, we had to get our own water refills along with constantly getting up to get someone to bring us something else. The worst part was the so called waitress stood by our table until we paid our check. As if we were going to run out without paying. It was made clear to us that they didn’t care to wait on us. Most Asian establishments are that way sadly. Clearly they only have the skills to cook the food and not in customer service. What’s sad is most asians think it’s normal and put up with rude service.
This was my second time eating at Omi. The first time wasn’t that memorable so I decided to try it again. The food was way overpriced and the taste doesn’t even compare to the other korean restaurants around. I wished I had ate at the hmart food court instead. The only good things about Omi were that one of our server was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
The food is excellent but the service is substandard and the managers are terrible and refuse to listen. I tried to make reservations for a party of 18 and was told over the phone that reservations were not accepted. A restaurant like this not having reservations is ridiculous. When we arrived with ten of the guests we were told we wouldn’t be seated until the remainder of our party arrived. This was 6pm dinner on a weekend. We agreed and when four more guests arrived we asked again and were told to wait. When we finally had 16 of our 18 guests I asked to please be seated as only two guests unaccounted for and my guests were tired of standing and with such a large group and a busy dinner service we were concerned our party plans and seating were in jeopardy. We were told they would not seat us yet again until I barked at the manager that I was tired of being jerked around and demanded to be seated immediately. They begrudgingly relented and seated us. Our waitress was great and the food was excellent. We asked about splitting the the check in advance and we were told it was no issue but when dinner was over we were told they could not split the check. Another argument with the manager followed where they refused to budge. We will never eat here again. The excellent food, it didn’t matter what was brought to the table, it was superb. Sadly aourcourteous wait staff could not overcome the entitled and uninterested management. I have never seen management behave this way in my life. We left a generous tip for our servers, thanked them for a great night, but we will never come back.
We went there with a Chinese friend. They didn’t have Korean BBQ sauce, gave us low quality meat with the all one can eat BBQ, less sides, and poor service. We will not be returning ever again.
Omi is Daebak!. I have been there for the BBQ and for the regular menu, and I havent had anything there that I didnt like yet. I have been there a couple times too. The service is great and welcoming. I love the atmosphere and the food. My favorite this one the menu and the Galbi and Man Du Gukk. All of the sides are also exceptional. I love trying new places, but one of my favorite Korean places to eat is at Omi Korean Grill and Bar.
Food was good! But they have a $1 rule where they charge $1 for each strip of meat you don’t eat.
