Excellent food!. I haven’t eat Russian food about year and a half, so finally I visited this place. I was surprised how good their cooking! The dishes remained me my grandmother cooking. I really love it, and my american friends were in love with food. I would defiantly recommend to visit this place!
Great Place!. My wife and I went to Russian Banya for a New Years party. We had a great experience there. The food was amazing, and the place had a lot of atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming, and the party was one of the most fun we’d ever been to. Highly recommended.
It is more like a cultural place. We have been to King Spa, and Russian Banya is much smaller and with less options, but it is still worth to try. You feel like you are in a small cultural European club. The food is very good. It is Russian and Eastern European food homemade. We had our own table during the whole time, including the time that we were in the saunas.
Great experience with the Banya and restaurant!. The place was great. I was so anxious after reading some bad reviews but we had a very good time. We’ve been to King Spa several times and we love it too but the Russian Banya just has a different feel to it. It’s not as over-the-top, and definitely more authentic. They have three rooms (the hot dry room, the steam room and the very very hot, yet not as dry room). And you go back and forth between rooms and alternate with time in the rest area where they have tables, lounge chairs, etc…We also tried several of the Russian dishes they had and all were awesome! The food is much better than King Spa. It was a great experience and I can’t wait for Groupon to offer another deal there!I will definitely go back. The only con was that the timer for the steam room (which controls the steam) can only be accessed by the guy working at the front desk so you constantly have to bother him to turn it on. I wish customers could just set the timer themselves.
The Real Deal!. Went on a Friday night (just ate at the restaurant-did not visit the Spa). We ordered the Khachapuri, but they were out. The waitress suggested the Chebureki instead, so we ordered a couple of those-and they were absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned, crisp, very tasty. With our eyes being bigger than our stomachs, we also ordered the Cheese Assortment Platter, which turned out to be 2 cheeses, sliced deli style (I think they were Havarti and Swiss). Not a lot of variety in the cheese platter, but there was a lot of it. As an entre I ordered the Home Style Pork Stew, and my wife had the Russian Style Dumplings with Meat. Both were very, very good. The stew was seasoned perfectly, with several layers of flavor all nicely interwoven to form a very savory, yummy dish. The dumplings also were very good-like the Khachapuri, they were seasoned perfectly, and served in a delicious broth with sour cream on the side. This was my first foray into Russian cuisine, and I was very happy with what I had. We will most defiantly be returning to try out some other things on the menu. This restaurant is the real deal-it is run by real honest to goodness Russians serving real honest to goodness Russian food. I highly recommend you try it out.
Authentic Russian Cuisine!. They have something for everyone, but they also have lots of russian options that I have never seen on any other menu in Dallas. Some are dishes that are really just variations or different names for Americanized dishes but some of them, especially their soups are very traditionally Russian and pretty tasty. It is have restaurant and half family day spa. Definitely a look into Russian culture. A great place to take your kids and show them a different culture without leaving the area. Neat place in general and I would recommend their food.
Neat Family Spa / Sauna and Russian Cafe. Really unlike anywhere else that I know of in Dallas Fort Worth. You can go to the spa / sauna part for $25 for all day and go into the various saunas, Finnish sauna, steam room, etc. They offer different massages including a birch leaf massage, an oak leaf massage and eucalyptus massage, but the real gem of the place is the food. They have a Russian Olivier Salad which is made of boiled vegetables, meat, eggs and pickles under mayonnaise, it has a unique and good flavor. They also have Russian Borsch, Shashlyk, and Chicken Tabaka, which are all very authentic and classic Russian dishes, all of which are very good. Russian food similar to Greek and Mediterrian cuisine definitely has its own flavor and some of it takes some getting used to if you didn’t grow up with it, but once you try it you can get hooked. Their restaurant is used for banquets and large parties at times but also has a good takeout menu that I would recommend. Definitely a good clean family place that has authentic Eastern European and Russian cuisine that will make you nostaligic for Russia if you are from there or make you curious to visit if you are not from there.
