Unique Location. The layout of this Schlotzsky’s is odd. The drive through is in the back of the building. You have full view of the garbage bin while you order. Inside, the first thing you see is wide open space with two blue pillars. Off to the left is Cinnabon stand that kind of hides the order counter. Service was really well done. I always find that Scholtzky’s makes you feel welcome. My Pastrami & Swiss on Rye did not taste very good. It’s one of my favorite sandwiches, but I am not sure what was wrong today. When I consider the bad drive-up, odd layout and taste, I probably will not be back. I would much rather go to the beautiful location at Midway and Park.
We have…. A winner! I recently tried numerous sandwhich places in the area and though all were good to some degree, Schlotzsky’s stood a bit above the rest. It was right around the 5:00 time that I went during the weekday, place was not very busy. I ordered a turkey & bacon sandwhich, large. Came on a big round bun, and this thing was PACKED with meat (see pic)! Easily the meatiest sandwhich that I tried, without even having to ask for extra meat. The sandwhich was slightly warm, meat was fresh, service was fast. Awesome taste, the bun they use is awfully good. This is my #1 choice for sandwhich shops in the area, would go back in a heartbeat.
