Its good, best in the area. Brisket does have some fat, as expected and potato Salad isn’t my favorite, but burgers, bbq sandwich, Mac and cheese, all great. Good prices, good sweet tea, plenty of space and quick service
Its Good Stuff!. I like McKenzie’s, it may not be the cheapest in town but so far for BBQ I like it the best. We have eaten there many times and they have catered it at work before as well and its always good.
Family Friendly. We like the friendly atmosphere of McKenzie’s. We usually eat at the one in Montgomery. $5 burger basket night is our favorite. There is a lot of room for big groups and everyone orders when they get there… and the service is pretty quick. The bakery attached to the Conroe McKenzie’s is the best bakery around!
Disgusting. The BBQ was awful. Brisket tasted like Puppy Chow.. Food was dry and bland, Beans had no flavor..The portion size was too small for the price. Will not recommend
BBQ Done Right. Have eaten at Coopers, Kreuz Market, Blacks. Smittys etc etc. I think day in and day out McKenzies brisket and ribs is on par with others. The prices are right and the food is served quickly. Great BBQ and you don’t have to drive to LLano or Lockhart.
I am a big brisket fan. Most Texans are. I am really good about giving restaurants second and third chances. I have given this one 5. Every time I have been the brisket is so dry that its almost like eating a piece of cardboard. What gives?
With a ton of good BBQ in the area why would any one stop at McKenzie’s? I refuse to spend my money to eat sub par BBQ.
