I'm surprised more people do not like this place. I had the chicken pot pie, which was delicious with the baked potato soup. I thoroughly enjoyed it. …

Spend your money elsewhere. In a nutshell . . . take your business elsewhere. I thought I would give Pie-in-the-Sky a chance even though I had read all of the bad reviews on more than one site. And since most of the criticism was toward their restaurant side of the business, I was optimistic. I just wanted to order several pies. Boy was I wrong. I placed an order for Thanksgiving pies a couple of weeks before the holiday. $75 worth. Fast-forward to the day before Thanksgiving. I was instructed to pick them up after 3:00. I arrived at about 4:30 only to discover that one of the pies on my order was not available. Apparently, it had been given to another customer. At least thats what they think happened. I asked how can this be? I had paid for everything up front (which is required by the way). How can something so simple be mishandled. Anyway, their no-apology attitude was offer a refund for the one pie. Or pick a substitute. I asked to speak to the manager. I got the owner. It was here that I realized the bad reviews are all true. The attitude and (lack of) customer service starts at the top. And apparently the poor service permeates from the top down. The owner has a no-care attitude. Instead of trying to make things right, maybe offering a replacement pie AND a refund for what I actually ordered, she basically said oh well, these things happen. I told her I was a new customer and asked why they blew it on such a simple order. Her response . . . how about all of your money back. I gladly accepted. No way was I going to patronize a store (and owner) with that type of attitude. Wow. Pies are sold everywhere. Do yourself a favor and spend your money with people who really care about their customers!
Pie is not worth the trip. I’ve made numerous trips to Pie in the Sky for breakfast, lunch and even coffee and pie. Also tried their take-out pies and desserts for family gatherings, hoping to find the perfect one. Finally, I decided — the place has changed, the management and cooking staff have changed, and the great reputation they enjoyed when they first opened is down the tubes. We threw out the last 2 pies after a few bites. They were simply inediible. A great pie crust is a work of art in the kitchen and without it, no pie is worth a bite. I can tolerate so-so service if the food is worth the wait, but even the sandwiches are not worth the money. I wish it was the place I remember from its opening days, but it is not — and I don’t plan to waste any more money there. Sad.
Meh…. I get the same thing every time the chicken salad sandwhich and soup. We hadn’t been here in a few months and it seems they have made some changes. They expanded their kitchen and there is now less dining room seating. Their are employees everywhere, but it’s pretty chaotic, we had several waiters/waitresses and no one in particular. Their used to be a massive amount of avacado spread on the sandwhich and this time there was a drizzle down the middle of the bread. Had I not opened my sandwhich to make sure it was even on there, I never would have known. Pretty disappointing to say the lease. Their pie is extremely over-priced as well. Should have left things the way they used to be.
Awesome lunch. Well, despite what the reviews discuss below, I went here today, and had a wonderful lunch. Maybe they picked the wrong times to go, when the place was too busy, but Sunday at 12:30 I walked in, got acknowledged, was told to pick any table I wanted, and got waited on immediately. The table was clean by the way… My server was attentive, friendly, and informative. The food arrived quickly, and was absolutely delicious. I had the steak sandwich (very good), fries (better than average), and a piece of coconut cream pie (outstanding!). My drink was refilled at least twice that I can remember, and always before it got to the bottom. All-in-all, it was an extremely pleasant experience, and one that I’ll be repeating in the near future.
Worst place yet. My order was wrong – had to wait over 30 minutes, the pie was awful! They were very overpriced!!! Will not go back!
Pie crust is almost inedible. Used to be good but they changed it so they could use a machine to make the crusts. Cake balls are occasionally questionable as far as their freshness goes. Menu is limited. Overall… meh.
Breakfast is SO good!. I went for breakfast one day…it was just like my mom would have made it. Eggs, Bacon, grits, toast…delish! I’ve also been for lunch. I had the burger…very good as well. I’ve heard their orange bread is amazing.
