Conroe consumer. This is my favorite restaurant in the area. if it’s a special occasion, this is where we go. my entire family looks forward to dinners here. no place is perfect but this place is special.
Great place. Romantic, small, quaint environment. Live music. Great food. I especially like that you can choose to eat both Italian or steak. I almost didn’t come because of the bad reviews. I’m so glad I came. This is a wonderful restaurant.
Owner chef skipped bail. Dino use to be a great chef as i wrote in a previous review but since he skipped out of town the restaurant i would say is not up to previous reports.good luck, it was great.03 Oct, 2012Always excellent. Had the stuffed veal chop, house pasta and two caesar salads, best their is. I’ve been here about 8 times and never disappointed. The martinis are huge (not cheap but if they were the normal size they would be) and I request the bleu cheese stuffed olives, which are excellent. We love the intimate booths and live music on weekends, going this saturday again.
Third Time still AWFULL. We tried the Bistro and what they called Italian was terrible. We were asked to try again, it was a bad. We tried Rex Steakhouse and the soup had not taste, the filet was small and no taste cooked on a hamburger grill, the lobster tail was large enough but over cooked and fish tasting. Thank goodness for the red wine we ordere. I spent over $106 on my order, it wasn’t worth $6. I can honestly say the ihop down the road does a better steak for breakfast. We had a table for 7. While there five of them talked about how good it was. The next morning, three of those five said they would never go back. Everyone was just being nice to each other and the waiter. The waiter was nice.
Stunning steaks. I have not tried the bistro as of yet, but I was pleasantly surprised with Rex’s Steakhouse. The service was absolutely amazing, the cook came out and spoke to our table making sure all of our steaks were cooked exactly how we wanted. The owner spoke our table and was genuinely interested in making sure we were having a great dinner. The steak was phenominal for the area, there is nothing remotely close that can compare.Bear in mind, it is pricey. Not kind of pricey, very pricey. This is what you would consider a high class place. Steaks ALONE start at $30, sides are roughly $5 a piece. Any alcoholic drink is $10 plus. If you are a general patron, wanting to wear a ballcap and watch tv while you eat. You’ll have to drive to Woodlands.
Ravioli was ok but shrimp scampi was bad. Real bad. The hour wait was not worth it. Gonna keep driving next time.
REALLY REALLY BAD. I am sorry I have been to this restaurant before, but I will not be back again!!! First never should have to ask for a wine list, then get a response of…it is all in bottles except our house wines? Then be out of a lobster bisque at 7:30 on a friday. The tuna and veal we got was so over cooked. It might have been a really bad night…but not going to chance it again!!! On a positive note the gentleman playing the piano! He was really good.
