Good Home cooking. The food is your basic home cooking. The staff is AWESOME. Some of the friendliest people I know. They took care of my elderly Dad on a regular basis. I live on the west side of Houston and plan on going for a good home cooked meal reg.ularly
Frozen and Chef Mic-rowave. Had a burger and you can tell the patties came from a frozen bag that you could get from Walmart. Salad was good, pretty sure that came from a bag as well. If your expectations are low and you just want something you could easily make at home, but don’t feel like it, this is the place for you.
Not Clean. I’ve spent many years woking in the food industry I have to say that I have never worked in a restaurant that was as dirty as the whistle stop. The food was okay but even if it was good I couldn’t have enjoyed it because I couldn’t stop noticing how badly everything around me needed to be cleaned. From the napkin dispenser and ketchup bottle on my table, the glass on the display cases and coolers, the floors and base boards and the bathroom. I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like. What makes a restaurant stand out is the attention to detail, with such low attention to cleanliness this place has no chance at producing a high quality experience.
Mel and Brent. Great food, fast, friendly service and prices are decent. We have had the Friday night special, fried catfish, home fries, cole slaw and hush puppies twice, fried chicken strips, steamed VEGES, etc. excellent!
Not bad. The fryer oil needed to be changed the French fries are dark and soggy. The staff was SUPER friendly as the rest of the reviews said and the food was cheap.

Friendly staff, good service, but nothing spectacular on the menu. Its the same stuff you can make at home.
