Del Frisco’s lives up to its name and reputation with amazing food that is worth the steeper price. I highly recommend the 8oz filet, and I even moreso recommend trying to make it to the restaurant during Dallas’ resturant week for special deals on meals. manvitaweb.wordpress.com

This was our first time to the Del Frisco in downtown Ft. Worth and we weren’t surprised that it was as nice as any high end Steak House in the MetroPlex. We had been to Del Frisco’s original restaurant in Dallas many times, starting when Dale Wamstadt opened it in 1988. I have one of the original Double Eagle coins he would present return customers way back then.We arrived right on time and were promptly seated in a cozy corner table. Within in minutes, their wonderful warm bread appeared and cocktail drink orders were taken. We never felt rushed or unappreciated, they have service down perfectly. I began with a Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, they were huge shrimp and delicious, 6 to the plate. My wife had a House Salad and enjoyed it as well. We both ordered Filet Mignons, hers 8 ounces and mine 12, and when they arrived they were perfectly cooked. The steaks really were perfect, sizzling hot and tender. We ordered sides of Mushrooms, Asparagus and AuGratin Potatoes. It is difficult to actually describe how good those potatoes are… other than repeating perfect again. We each also ordered a glass of their excellent house Cabernet to enjoy with dinner.I had indicated during the reservation process that we were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and they did not disappoint with a Strawberry Cheesecake dessert with a burning candle for her wishes. It all made the evening a memorable one. Now it’s off to hear Sam Smith perform on Monday night to complete the occasion’s celebration. Perfect!I must also say, the way Fort Worth handles their valet services is really innovative. You give them your cell number and they text you a confirmation, when ready to leave you respond to it and the car is delivered. There’s other places in Fort Worth that utilize the same system, but you can also pick which one of the various locations you wish to pick your car up at. Sweet!
